The Mallard Room is a luxurious guest room/suite with private entrance located on a quiet, two-acre waterfront property in Bass Harbor and surrounded by Acadia National Park. The room has a king bed, gas fireplace, private furnished deck, bathroom with jetted double tub and separate shower, robes and slippers, organic toiletries, and all the amenities one would expect from an upscale boutique inn. Also included are exclusive use of a kitchenette (no stove or cooktop) and laundry room.

The space
Located on the Quiet Side of Mt. Desert Island (home to Acadia National Park), our property has 700 feet of waterfront harbor shoreline. Close by are the iconic and picturesque Bass Harbor Lighthouse, the scenic Ship Harbor and Wonderland nature trails in the park, the Bass Harbor Nature Cruise, and Thurston’s Lobster Pound. The shops and restaurants in Southwest Harbor and the lovely swimming beach at Echo Lake, are less than a ten-minute drive.

From your room deck you can watch for loons, cormorants, eagles, osprey, and even the occasional harbor seal. Kayakers are welcome to bring a kayak for launching into the harbor, while bike enthusiasts can bring their bikes or rent them in Southwest Harbor to enjoy the 50 miles of scenic carriage roads in the park.

Guests are welcome to use and explore all of the outdoor spaces on this property. Outdoor seating areas are available around the property for your use. The guest kitchenette is furnished with utensils, cutlery and dishware plus a dining table and chairs, solely for the use of Mallard Room guests.
