Interaction with Guests
As your host I will be around for all your questions. As a Tanjawi since 2006 I can give you good tips where to go , to eat, to shop etc If you need a reliable driver for daytrips to Assilah, Tetouan, Chefchaouen, Mohamed is your man. Like to have a Moroccan dinner at home, Abdullah makes delicious dishes. Or you want to make the first day a walking cultural tour through the medina, kasbah and the Marshan. Then Els is your woman. She speaks a lot of lanquages and knows everything about Tangier´s fascinating history and all it´s eccentric people.
The rue Naciria is in a very good and safe part of the medina close to taxiparkings on the Grand Succo ( 2 minutes). The neighborhood is very alive. Shops, restaurants, cafe´s bring alot of energy and entertainment. Just have a tea at Sakaya and watch the woman from the Rif bringing their products to the market or the fisherman with all the cats behind his car.
Walking, walking and again walking is the best way to get around in the medina. NO cars alowed!! Outside I would also recommend to walk but of course the blue petit taxi´s are everywhere to bring you wherever you want.
We respect our neighbours and other quests in the house. Smoking inside not alowed. With all the outsidespace we have no problem!!
Elegant house. It's the same as what you see in pictures, only prettier. The bedroom is very clean and comfortable. Great panoramic view on the terrace!
I loved my stay with Peter at the merchanthouse. The house is lovely, especially the roof garden. My room was great and the location in the medina was very good. I hope to get the opportunity to return sometime. I recommend this house highly to anyone wanting to stay in tangier
Peter is an incredible host. From the moment I arrived he was very welcoming and made every effort to make my stay with him as great as possible. I stayed with Peter while I looked for an apartment for myself, and his connections proved invaluable. He was available as much or as little as I needed.
In addition to his wonderful service, the house is absolutely beautiful. Rooms are spacious and luxurious, the roof terrace has an outstanding view, and the public area is old world Moroccan/European.
Peter's house is also great in the winter. Central heating is uncommon in Morocco, and while many other places can be drafty and cold, Peter's house stays warm—especially with the portable heaters he generously provides.
Thank you Peter!
Peter's house was the most beautiful one we stayed in during our trip across Morocco. The room we stayed in was huge, had a king-size bed and was tastefully decorated. Peter himself was kind enough to pick us up at a convenient location and explained us how to get around. He was a gracious host and we really enjoyed staying with him!
Ontbijt was compleet. Peter is een goede gastheer. Zouden we Tanger weer bezoeken dan is het verblijf voor herhaling vatbaar.
