Tiny Houses are unique in that they are traditional stud frame structures on wheels. Their finishes are high quality, yet the small size keeps them reasonably priced and allows for a simpler lifestyle with less stuff, fewer bills, and less to maintain and repair. Come enjoy this opportunity try a tiny house on for size!
Enjoy a solitary walk in the woods if you wish, or bring your spouse, kids, or buddy to hang with you. Additional guests can camp out in sleeping bags or air beds on the floor, or in tents if you’re a Scout about it - you know, leave no trace, no fires during dry season, etc.
From the giant hollow stumps of a couple redwoods you can go inside and hang out in, to the mossy logs spanning little ravines, this land has a certain magic to it. Beloved California native plants, birds, and amphibians are everywhere, and every season and every hour has its own special range of colors, sounds, and visual delights. This is the perfect for writing a novel or script, hiking in nature, meditating in serenity, or homebase for your wine country explorations.

* Steep, narrow ladder and open ledges/lofts without railings and barriers.
* Uneven steps and narrow doorways (doorway is 30” wide)

The Goldfinch guest house, parking for 1-2 cars, and shared access to outdoor shower, 50 acres of forest, pond, and hiking trails.
We're on the property 99% of the time, so we often make a point to say hello to guests when they arrive. This rental is a few hundred feet from our job site, where we often work between 10 and 4 during weekdays. We do keep the volume minimal when guests are present, and it's generally not noisy anyway - we save really loud work for vacant days. Our house is much further away and out of sight of the cottage.
On the property it's all about nature; the deep quiet and vibrant frogsong, the brilliant stars and gorgeous morning light, the delicate mosses, strange mushrooms, and watchful trees.
As for the neighborhood, sensory delights are everywhere in Healdsburg and the Dry Creek Valley; wineries, restaurants, gardens, galleries, boutiques, and stunning views.
Even further afield, a spectrum of colorful small towns blankets Sonoma County in local character well worth a trek off the beaten path. For an unforgettable day, try winding through Forestville and Occidental (don't miss Wild Flour Bakery!), then taking Coleman Valley Road to Bodega Bay on the coast. You can turn back at that point, or make it a circle back through Sebsastopol and check out the vibrant downtown culture. The drive takes just over two hours round trip, but plan for four or five to allow for stops, and make sure your cameras are charged.
What a treat it was to stay here. We met Dylan when we got there. He was super nice and helpful with everything. The place is super clean, comfortable and has everything you could think of all there. The bed was cozy and warm, we didn't want to leave. The trails around the place were idyllic and the whole experience was exceptional. Thank you guys!
Spent our 35th Anniv. there and was a nice little adventure for us. The Tiny House was great and the outdoor showers were really special. Very close to all the nice winery's. Host were great and made sure we had what we needed like firewood.
Would stay there again !
The house is clean and very nice. Only about 12 minutes from Healdsburg. We loved sitting outside by the pond at night enjoying the quiet. This is a perfect retreat!
Thank you for your hospitality! This is a rare opportunity to find out how comfortable tiny house living really is. Its so quiet and nice around the tiny home, picture perfect as well.
They are awesome. Super friendly and kind. You feel like you are at home. You should visit!
Accidentally pulled up to Dylan's driveway instead of Otter Pond...not even knowing who I was yet, he gladly helped me out! Really great experience, from the loft bed to the nice hike around the pond. Would come back for sure.
We had such a lovely time at the tiny house! Believe it or not, it was quite spacious for such small square footage. Comfortable bed, but beware of the low clearance - my husband and I had a fun time competing for fewer head bumps. (I won, only 2, on the last day, to his 10 total.)
The Tiny House is a great spot to get away from the stress of the city. Close to Healdsburg and all the nearby Sonoma spots but tucked into the woods far enough to feel like you are living in a forest. The house is very comfortable despite the efficient size footprint. The hosts are very welcoming and have plenty of recommendations for activity on the property. Overall a great place to stay - note: the outdoor shower is nicer than my indoor one, highly recommended.
This is a truly wonderful little house! It had everything we needed and was super cozy. The pond, and all the games behind the house like horseshoe, and the awesome hike through the redwoods right outside of the house was all you need after a day of wine tasting. The hosts were extremely accommodating, and easy going. Thank you!
Stayed here for a night with a friend of mine. We both LOVE tiny houses and were thrilled to get to stay in one, and Dylan was so knowledgeable and helpful. And town was just a five minute drive away.
The property is peaceful and quiet, and the hammock by the lake makes a great reading spot. So many stars at night, and birds chirping just outside the windows in the morning.
The bed in the sleeping loft is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! We raved about it. Also loved the outdoor shower, which is lovely and has super hot water!
If you like things cozy, bring your own throw blankets and slippers. The house doesn't have many spots or blankets to curl up cozily indoors. Not a problem though if the weather is warm and you plan to spend all your waking hours sitting outside.
