About this listing
Cozy, private room with extra loft... Walk to Backporch Coffee Roasters, Spork, and Newport Market. Minutes to MTB trails, trail running, endless road riding, and 35 minutes to Mt. Bachelor. Play, eat, relax and make yourself at home.
Located on the Westside of Bend, this lovely private room offers loads of natural light with a very clean, open-air layout. Along with your own private space (plus loft) and full bathroom, enjoy a spacious kitchen and living room, and a beautifully zero-scaped yard full of vegetables and flowers.
A perfect space for 1-3 people, this cozy room (in our 12-year-old, 1200 square foot home) is walking distance from Newport Market, Sunnyside Sports, Backporch Coffee Roasters, Nancy P's Bakery, Spork, Cuppa Yo, Chow, Kebaba, and Kampai. Other Westside Bend breweries and eateries are just a few steps (or pedals) further. Everything is within five minutes of our doorstep, with trails (Shevlin and Phil's trailhead) only 15 minutes by bike, and 1st Street Rapids two minutes by bike.
Expect peace, quiet, and relaxation while enjoying breakfast among the flowers and greenery of our front yard, or an evening meal around the fire pit. As well, Alley access with parking out back is safe and secure.
Guests will have access to the garage (for storing bikes, kayaks, skis, etc.), downstairs bedroom and bathroom, the kitchen and living room, as well as the sunny outside patio and garden. Basically everything except a tiny wooden shed!
Interaction with guests
Minimal. It's up to the guest, really. If you want interaction, we can. If you don't, we can leave you be. Simple as that.
Other things to note
We have an open-air home, which means sound travels easily. While we do try to be as quiet as possible when we are here, especially early mornings, sensitive sleepers might want to book elsewhere or bring ear plugs.
Please... no parties, no pets, no smoking. Be respectful and enjoy.

We live in Bend. It's great. Laura is a wildland firefighter and masters student and James is a reporter and also in a masters program. We're both writers, bike nerds and general outdoor recreate-ers who enjoy good food, drink and conversation. Cheers.
