Great experience in a classic San Francisco house. We met Josh, Ernest's son, who was very helpful and accommodating. Cozy, modern, and quiet house that was perfect for a trip to the city. Parking was not a problem on the weekend but could be stressful during the week since the street the house is on is two hour parking M-F.
Thanks Lisa! Just to be clear, there is PLENTY of parking on many of the streets adjacent to Roosevely Way where there is no M-F two hour parking restrictions (Lower Terrace, Saturn, Uranus, Upper Terrace to name a few). We've had nearly 200 bookings now and parking has not once presented a problem.
Great location, superb accommodations and breath taking views of San Francisco. Joshua, Ernest's son, was welcoming and personable. 5 minute walk to Cole Street (charming restaurants, bakery), 7-8 minutes jog to Golden Gate Park perfect for a morning run, 8-10 minute walk to Castro district ( restaurants, entertainment, metro) Would stay @ the Thayers again.
Staying with Ernest and Joshua was such a great experience for me. Their house is ' warm and beautiful'. The location is nice and close to everything. I recommend it for sure.
En tant que francaise, vous vous y sentirez comme chez vous.
Was a great stay- very nice house and Ernest and his son are very friendly people. Neighborhood is very pretty and has great views of the city too.
This is a gem in the heart of SF. Couldn't ask for a better place to rest my head and learn about what the city has to offer. The bus system pulls up right outside the house and offers an efficient way to get to the BART station - perfect place if you're planning to get around by public transportation.
Just outside the house is a wonderful little market store that has a great selection of food and wine. Check it out. Ernest's son, Josh, offered top notch hospitality! He recommended a short little hike just down the street that gives you an expansive view of the city. Have him tell you about it.
Highly recommend this spot!
The photos of this property does not do it justice. Beautiful! Very spacious, clean, location was excellent and great host. I missed meeting Ernie, but had great conversations with Josh. He gave me incredible information about the neighborhood and was very friendly. If you have a chance, you must try a stay at this property. I would definitely recommend this stay!
Excellent, top-notch experience with extremely friendly and welcoming hosts! Fast communication, helpful, clean, comfortable and quiet with a splendid view of the city below! Highly recommended! Thank you Thayer family!
I had a very enjoyable stay at Ernest's house, his son Josh was very welcoming when I arrived and provided useful advice about the city and nearby restaurants etc. The bathroom was excellent, and the bedroom comfy. The location is also fantastic, overlooking a large part of San Francisco, close enough to use the public transport yet far enough so it's quiet. I'd definitely stay again if I came back to SF.
We never met Ernest, but we did meet his son who was a great host. Room 1 was clean, quiet, sunny, affordable, and the shared bathroom was fancy!
Really enjoyed our stay. Great location, great views. Impressive bathroom and wonderfully comfortable bed.
