The riad was very calm and nice! we had a great stay. Amel who takes care of the house is a very adorable woman and great cook!
Would recommend it to anyone who prefers a more quite stay and wants to avoid the busy tourism around place jemmaa elfna.
We have had the most amazing time in the Riad. Amel came to pick us up at the gate to the medina and helped us with everything we could possibly need. From luxurious breakfasts to blankets and heaters at night. The Riad really is serene, wich is great in a big city like Marrakech. I would love to come back and finally meet Leila!
Leila wasn't there during my stay and maybe that was the cause of some troubles. Here they come.
The driver sent by Leila tot pick em up from the airport asked 200 dirham instead of 100 what was agreed upon. I was tired and gave it.
The room wasn't ready so I had to wait 20 minutes.
The room was cold and there was no extra blanket. In the middle of the night I put all my clothes on my bed which hardly was any use. The cleaning lady gave me an extra blanket the next day but took it away (without telling) the next day to make up an other bed. I took it back from that room. In the meantime me and other guests were given electrical heaters that blew the fuse a couple of times. There was no key for a newly arrived couple beacuse they were - same as I - not expected by the people who took care of Leila's riad during her absence.
The place itself is alright. Hidden behind some very small ally's wher you can easliy get lost. The stairway to my room was very low. You must really bend over and this was also the way to the shared toilet. My room was nicely decorated. The place on the roof in the sun is very nice. So was the cleaning lady who made me breakfast.
Sorry for your disappointment
You are one of the exceptions
I called the maid to see if everything is going well for you and top, she told me you were happy to be at the riad
Shame not to have left me your problems by email that I could intervene to correct the situation
A conseiller! Et merci à Leila pour sa disponibilité.
The riad is very nice and clean. In this period the room were a little bit cold but there was an electric heater, the bed was confortable and the place is quiet. The woman who work there, is a very nice person.
the only negative thing was that we didn't receive the password for the wifi.
Taking into consideration location in Medina, riad was all you really need (good price/value). I suggest being early in the day as getting to know medina in the late evening might be too engaging for you.
The riad was perfect! A real haven of peace in the Medina, 20 minutes from jemaa el fna square (go and eat at 65, such a funny ambience). I higly recommand.
Leila was not there but she gave me good information by email, thanks a lot :)
We booked this Riad because it got a lot of positive feedback here on Airbnb.
Leila offered us to send a driver to pick us up at the airport, which went perfectly.
Unfortunately there was no internet in the riad and there was no city map or a person to show us the way on the first day, which made it a bit hard at the beginng, especially when you arrive late in the evening and it's about to get dark soon. This first impression is really important and people in other Riads seemed to have a better start.
I liked the fact that the rooms and the riad in general where really clean, the pancakes at breakfast where so far the best ones I had and Leila always answered quickly to my questions concerning WiFi.
I wish there had been someone to give us some "inside information" and some orientation on the first day to make us feel less lost in the labyrinth of the Medina.
All in all, If it wasn't for the start, I'd say its a good value for money!
We a family of five had a really nice time staying at the Riad. It is situated in the Medina about 20 minutes walk from the central square. We were there in December when the evenings are cold. I am sure it is an absolutely fabulous place to stay when the nights are warm and the days longer. Douria produced great breakfasts every morning and really nice dinner in the evening. I really recommend this as a place to stay in Marakech. Leila is a great host as she patiently dealt with all my queries and helped with arrangements for taxis , trips etc.
