About This Listing
We have a comfortable two-bedroom, open plan apartment in beautiful, scenic West Cork. It's attractively located within one mile of the popular fishing village and yachting centre of Schull. It is ideal for either one or two guests.
The apartment is attached to our home, but has its' own entrance, access and parking space. We are also regular house exchangers, so our apartment is available unless we have exchange guests or family staying.
Amenities include a modern shower, an open plan kitchen which is lovely and airy in summer and modern kitchen appliances including electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer. Towels and linen are provided for all our guests. There is also immediate access to a large garden with beautiful views of Schull harbour and nearby Mount Gabriel.
Schull is on the Wild Atlantic Way and it's a vibrant and popular place for visitors all year round. Sailing, boat trips, pony trekking, sandy beaches, diving, golf and the only Planetarium in the Republic of Ireland are among the many local attractions on offer, while Schull has recently acquired an open-air gym which is great fun and good for the waistline too.
Other possibilities in the West Cork area include beautiful coastal walks, hill-walking, bird-watching and whale watching. Schull village is small and picturesque and has supermarkets, friendly pubs with regular music, good craft shops, a post office and ATM facilities. Local people are hospitable and kind. There is a twice daily bus service to Cork city, but a car is recommended to enjoy the best of this beautiful area.
No smoking inside the apartment, but guests are welcome to smoke outside.
Ann and Tim are fantastic hosts, they are extremely kind and have great advice for places to visit in the locality.
The house itself has every amenity you could possibly need and is set in a very picturesque area. The wifi is excellent and there is lots of information provided within the house about places to see in west cork.
The bed was very comfortable and the house is quiet and peaceful at night. The fridge was very well stocked of fresh supplies.
Schull is a great town to be based for exploring this wonderful part of Ireland. Ann and Tim gave us some great tips on places to visit and we found all the people in the area to be very welcoming and there is plenty to do and see here.
We will definitely come back to stay again with Ann and Tim.
We spent a night in Ann and Tim s place during our long week end in South Ireland. The place was really nice, very comfortable, warm, and with a lot of place. Its kind of a studio next to the main house. Ann and Tim welcomed us very warmly and the place was prepared for our arrival more than we would have expected ! bread, coffee, milk, juice etc in the fridge, and there is TV/ internet available if needed. All cooking amneties are available as well for people who want to cook on their own. We only spent one night, but Schull is a good stop to discover Maizen head, and sheep head. There are also place to have dinner there.
thanks for all!
Daga and Francois
We had a great time! Tim and Ann are the sweetest, very welcoming, and even offered to pick us up downtown at the pub if we wanted to have a pint or two! They have great suggestions, listen to them if you are looking for a good experience. The place was clean and had tons of amenities! We would be happy to return if we ever find ourselves back in Ireland :)
Ann and Tim were delightful and we had a wonderful time at their fantastically located apartment. We couldn't have met nicer hosts and will definitely try to get back one day. Lovely area- lovely people.
About the Host, Ann
I'm retired, with family having flown the nest, though they return from time to time. I live with my partner who works from home.
We love to travel and often exchange homes, especially in and around Europe. Favourite places include Berlin (we have spent a lot of time there), Venice, Gibraltar, Paris, London, Bruges and, of course, all of beautiful Ireland. We love reading, eating out (West Cork has an embarrassment of great restaurants and fresh produce) and detective dramas on TV.
We are easy-going and friendly couple who enjoy meeting people and experiencing different cultures.
