Colle dell'ara is not a hotel. Staying with us, in our home, means treating yourself to a rare experience.
We are in Positano, in the small village of Montepertuso, located just above this corner of paradise on the Amalfi Coast.
The building is situated on top of the hill and can be reached on foot in 5-6 minutes through an ancient path, fully illuminated at night.
We are Pasquale and Giacomo, who with the help of our father Michele, a few years ago we decided to undertake this activity which constantly
is giving us the opportunity to convey to our guests our main passions for hospitality and good food. These passions, well-established in our
coastal land and agriculture, allowing us to constantly reinvent the offer to our guests dedicated, basing it on availability and seasonality values.
We host you in rooms equipped with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the sea of Positano between the islands of Capri and Li Galli. Each room has a large double bed (with the possibility of adding a single bed), and are equipped with linens, towels and toiletries. Free wi-fi connection is working in all our spaces. We provide you with keys for your independent access at every time.
Interaction with Guests
Upon your arrival you will find free parking slots along the road and we'll help you carry your luggage with a special pulling system.
We will assist you from beginning, accompanying you throughout whole of your stay suggesting you the best local amenities including activities from ourselves offered.
You will have here the opportunity to experience our land through different activities such us farming excursions and local cooking classes (events organized on reservation). We always include breakfast, different every day and based on availability of our gardens, or made by the breads and cakes that we daily prepare.
The center of Positano is reachable by bus in 20 minutes or 35-40 minutes through a centuries-long staircase. For trekking lovers, our structure is directly related to the main paths of Monti Lattari and the most famous Walkpath of God.
However, we are located at the center of several important location like Pompei, Capri, Amalfi, Ravello and Sorrento, reachable by ferry, bus or car. Nearby you will find shops and restaurants.
Very welcoming warm and special environment . We were particularly fortunate to have one of the special dinners which was beyond any of our expectations ... In short divine . This is a very special accommodation option for seeing Positano but is not for the faint hearted. There is a steep climb to access the property and as fit 60 plus year olds we managed it but would not be possible for some. Of course the advantage of this climb is the magnificent views from our private balcony ...to die for
We had the best time staying with the host family. Our room was spacious and clean, the view from our balcony was just like the photographs!
They welcomed us like family and we were lucky enough to try their home cooked organic dinner, 5 starters, a pasta and dessert! The food was fabulous and the portions were too generous.
There is a small uphill hike between the main road and the house. It takes about 5 minutes and is mostly up hill so make sure you have good shoes on arrival.
We would definitely stay here again.
Thank you so much for the fabulous time.
This place is a hidden gem! Beautiful place with very helpful host, overall amazing experience. After such a very long travel day from Rome, we were a bit lost after we got Positano, apparently we needed to board a bus to Monterpertusso and got off at Colle dell'ara stop. The B&B has private luggage lift while we had to hike a little bit to reach the B&B. The view was amazing from up above, nothing can describe the view from outside of my room. Amazing experience.
there was so inspiring place for me. a great view, delicious food, nice weather. Positano is beautiful, and Colle dell'ara is the perfect place to enjoy there. :)
When we visited many towns in Amalfi Coast these days, I should say, this BNB 's stunning view worth you spending 2 or 3 days(we stayed for 2 days). Besides, the food impressed me much. You can see the garden with different vegetables and fruits from balcony, some of them will be offered while breakfast. Homemade dinner everyday is the highlight, and the chef is marvelous! Room is simple and clean. Anyway it's unforgettable experience of this vacation. As the owner said, slow Positano, the right way you enjoy this place is to be slow, to melt in nature.
The experience my husband and I had at Colle dell'ara was amazing. The hosts made us feel extremely welcome. The facilities were clean and comfortable and the view was magnificent. We had a wonderful home cooked dinner (offered every other night) made from the beautiful fresh produce from their garden. The breakfast was also yummy and plentiful - I particularly loved the fresh figs from the garden. We had our own rental car however the bus went by regularly to take you down to Positano. Our stay here was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you to Pasquale Michele and Giacomo for being such outstanding hosts.
We had a fantastic time being hosted by Giacomo and his brother Pasquale. All amenities were provided as promised and there was a real family atmosphere. The view from our room was spectacular! They were incredibly accommodating and even changed our mattresses upon request without any fuss at all.
Breakfast provided every morning was incredible and the option of having home-cooked dinner with fresh ingredients from their garden is a must! A great way to meet fellow travellers.
I'd note that the rooms are a good 5 minutes hike from the main road and a good 20-25 minutes away from Positano city centre and beach by bus. Buses every hour at the accommodation.

Hello everybody! I'm Pasquale.
I am graduated in Political Science and after many trips around the world I decided to return in Positano and running here, with my brothers and my family this "adventure" based on hospitality.
We always hope to offer you a new wonderful family experience in the heart of nature, good food and wine, and Slow Life!
