My friend and I spent 2 days here, had we known how amazing it was, we would have spent much more time here. The house and hospitality were first class, great bed & bath, stunning views, yummy breakfasts and we even enjoyed their cooking for a full dinner one night! Pasquale and his Father were so warm and accommodating! A gem not to be missed!
Amazing room and excellent host! Pasquale (Giacomo's brother) was our host for the two nights we spent at Colle dell'ara. He was very friendly and provided all the information we needed for our stay and visit to Positano. The room was very clean, the included breakfast was great, and the view from the terrace was unbelievable. Yes there is a 5-6 minute walk up the hill to the B&B, but it's well worth it. Highly recommended to anyone looking to visit Positano/Montepertuso. We hope to go back again one day.
My husband and I stayed at Colle dell'ara for our first two nights in Positano and it was wonderful! I had arranged everything with Giacomo via Airbnb, and he was very easy to communicate with. His brother Pasquale checked us in and was the one helping us during our stay. He was so warm and welcoming from the beginning. He helped us get our bags up the mountain and gave us an awesome tour of his families estate. The B&B itself is so beautiful! The view from our balcony was absolutely spectacular. We really enjoyed staying in Montepertuso which is a little bit outside of the city of Positano but still very easy to get to by bus or if you're feeling ambitious you can walk/hike. I would definitely recommend the walk down to Positano at least once because the views are so great. The Colle dell'ara was the perfect place for us to escape the crowds and tourists typical in Positano. We got to feel a little more like locals and it made this one of our favorite experiences in our two weeks on the Amalfi Coast. Pasquale also recommended a restaurant for us to try very close to the B&B in Montepertuso called Il Ritrovo. It was also very great!
Our stay at Colle Dell'Ara was phenomenal! The Miola's are the best hosts we had during our stay in Italy. The breakfast provided each morning was fantastic (cold cuts and cheeses, pies, cakes, fruit, juice and an espresso drink made just for you!).
The room we stayed in was very clean and had a really comfortable bed. The best part of our stay was the other guests. We felt really fortunate to meet and spend time with the other guests and we found ourselves on the balcony most evenings chatting with the other guests, Marco and Pasquale.
We plan to return in the next summer or two!
Comfortable, large room with fantastic view from the terrace. This place takes a little work to get to but it's worth it. Great family-run operation. If they are serving dinner during your stay (they don't serve every night), take advantage. It was the best meal we had during a two week stay in Italy. Everything is grown and prepared right on the property. Everyone is very helpful with local advice and the peaceful setting is tough to leave. Well done!
What can one say but WOW what a view. It was wonderful to be up and out of the central village of Positano. Positano is beautiful but to be up in the hills above the heat, to experience the life amongst the clouds and to see such a view; words cannot describe the beauty you just have to experience it for yourself. Who cares about the 2,000 steps down to the beach, it works up the appetite and besides the conversations you have on the way down with the locals is just magical.
Giacomo Thank you for making room for us at your wonderful villa, your father and brothers were wonderful. The boys looked after us and our luggage, making sure we did not miss our early morning connection by bringing down our luggage the night before. I just love the way your flying fox operates.
Breakfast was delicious and your father cooks a fantastic family dinner. I loved your Limoncello that is made on your farm from the heart, but unfortunately Rome International airport didn't want me to take it home.
So we will have to come back and have a glass with you and your brothers when the cooking school opens, keep me on your contact list.
Many many many thanks, for a wonderful ending to a magical journey.
Kisses to you, your little one and all the boys.
This is more like a hotel than a "B&B;" we had a VERY hard time finding it and this is not for the "faint of heart!" Marco couldn't have been more helpful when he came to find us on the road. There are hundreds of steps up to the place which we were not expecting but the view IS worth it! This is a great place but you need to be aware that it is VERY high up on a cliff and rather isolated. The family is very proud of this place and offers dinners during the week; nice family photos are a personal touch. Breakfast is best we have had and is served on the terrace. Beautiful - be prepared to climb!!
Paco and the crew were incredible hosts. This is a MUST if you are visiting Positano. It is truly an authentic experience. Nestled up in the hills of Positano the view was breathtaking from our bedroom. We had dinner with them one night and all of the food was sourced directly from their land. Fresh figs, grapes...incredible. The hosts were absolutely amazing and real quality people. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to stay.
We have been traveling Italy for a few weeks ands stayed in several b&b's. This was definately the best one! Great hospitality, great food, great view. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hosts did everything to please us and were very helpful. Thanks Pasquale, Giacomo and family for an unforgettable (website hidden) was wonderful to feel part of this family for a few days.
I had a wonderful stay at here! The brother were very helpful and pleasant. It is a short bus ride to positano, although far from the beach, the bus ride was scenic and provided a panoramic view of positano! It is close to Path of the Gods and few restaurants. I would recommend staying here
