Colle dell'ara is not a hotel. Staying with us, in our home, means treating yourself to a rare experience.
We are in Positano, in the small village of Montepertuso, located just above this corner of paradise on the Amalfi Coast.
The building is situated on top of the hill and can be reached on foot in 5-6 minutes through an ancient path, fully illuminated at night.
We are Pasquale and Giacomo, who with the help of our father Michele, a few years ago we decided to undertake this activity which constantly
is giving us the opportunity to convey to our guests our main passions for hospitality and good food. These passions, well-established in our
coastal land and agriculture, allowing us to constantly reinvent the offer to our guests dedicated, basing it on availability and seasonality values.
We host you in rooms equipped with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the sea of Positano between the islands of Capri and Li Galli. Each room has a large double bed (with the possibility of adding a single bed), and are equipped with linens, towels and toiletries. Free wi-fi connection is working in all our spaces. We provide you with keys for your independent access at every time.
Interaction with Guests
Upon your arrival you will find free parking slots along the road and we'll help you carry your luggage with a special pulling system.
We will assist you from beginning, accompanying you throughout whole of your stay suggesting you the best local amenities including activities from ourselves offered.
You will have here the opportunity to experience our land through different activities such us farming excursions and local cooking classes (events organized on reservation). We always include breakfast, different every day and based on availability of our gardens, or made by the breads and cakes that we daily prepare.
The center of Positano is reachable by bus in 20 minutes or 35-40 minutes through a centuries-long staircase. For trekking lovers, our structure is directly related to the main paths of Monti Lattari and the most famous Walkpath of God.
However, we are located at the center of several important location like Pompei, Capri, Amalfi, Ravello and Sorrento, reachable by ferry, bus or car. Nearby you will find shops and restaurants.
Beautiful place to stay! The view is unbeatable and the room as described. The daily breakfast is delicious and generous - highly recommend the dinner option to meet other guests and sample delicious organic and homemade produce. Only possible down side is it is a 20min bus ride into town and the beach - in peak season, the buses can be very full and only run on the hour. Would highly recommend this place over all!
Pasquale is a wonderful host - very friendly, flexible and helpful in the way he runs the BnB. Nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is wonderfully located - one of the most beautiful and tranquil places I have ever visited. The accommodation is very good for the price - the bedrooms are clean and well furnished. The view from the bedroom is stunning. The bathrooms are quite luxurious. There is no air con in the bedroom - however it's not needed. A fan is provided and you can leave the window open (with a screen to stop bugs from getting in). I stayed in August and had no problem with sleeping. Tha fan and the open window keep the room cool enough.
The communal areas are where the place really stands out. The lounge and terrace area (where you have breakfast) are simply stunning. The view from the terrace is breathtaking.
The food is delicious - which is what I would expect as so much is organically grown on site.
The only criticism I have is that the trek up from the road is quite difficult. It took me about 10 minutes to walk up as the track is quite rough and steep - much harder than I had expected.
However - the BnB itself is so perfect in every other regard I would definitely like to stay there again.
I had a great time with Pasquale and his brothers! Their family vacation home turned b&b is beautiful, located on top of a cliff with a stunning view of Positano. Definitely a slower and more romantic vibe, so in the future I will return with my significant other. Nonetheless my friend and I had a very enjoyable experience! The breakfast was delicious. I also did the Path of the Gods hike which is a must do for anyone staying here - some stunning views!! Everyone's hospitality here was so kind and generous, and I'm excited to return here in the future. Would recommend to anyone!
Fantastic venue, location and hosts. Amazing views over Positano and waking up to a delicious breakfast and eating it whilst looking out over the water was a such a special experience. Pasquales suggestions about where to go and what restaurants to eat at were fantastic and helped make our holiday even better.
We really enjoyed staying at Colle dell'ara. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The views from our balcony were amazing! One of the nights they hosted a dinner for all 12 of the guests staying there- it was fun and delicious! There are beautiful gardens and they use their produce in the breakfasts and dinners. All of our meals were served on the patio overlooking Positano - it is a special place! The road to get there is crazy- very narrow, hilly, and curvy. There are alot of steps from the road up to the house but it is worth it! Great place to stay, highly recommend it.
Had an absolutely amazing time in the Amalfi Coast. Superb hotel, amazing food and one very special view!! 10/10 an absolute must!!!
In brief, our time at Colle dell'ara was really lovely. We would love to return and would recommend it to friends and family. Our room, the house and the property were beautiful and ideally situated for accessing the amazing hiking in the hills around Positano (like
the path of the gods). Pasquale, Giacomo and Mathew were
incredibly helpful, helping us getting what we needed to get there
and to get to our next destination, moving our stuff, meeting our food needs, pretty much whatever came up. Pasquale was also a rock star
around helping us with all different aspects of our visit, where to
eat, where to hike, etc. Finally, the evening meal at Colle dell'ara was
really enjoyable -- beyond a dinner, more like an event, 5 courses, over a few hours, great food, great wine, and lots of fun connecting
with the other guests from around the world - easily the best food we have had in Itally, an a unique glimpse into the italian experience of food, wine and friends.
