  • Surely the finest location and most comfortable accommodation we could have imagined for our first foray to Co Cork. Our kind host made sure we lacked for nothing. We could happily have moved in for good!

  • Of all the places we've stayed through Airbnb over the past few years, this property is without a doubt the most picturesque and well thought out. Each and every detail of the barn has been designed perfectly, ensuring the most comfortable and easy stay possible. From the moment we arrived and were greeted with fresh cut flowers, a glass of wine in the garden, and beautiful conversation, we felt right at home. Kenneth has created such a welcoming and serene spot. He provided loads of provisions - including fresh baked bread, milk, yogurt, porridge, potatoes, garden fresh onions and garlic, nespresso, and even fresh laid eggs from his flock of chickens! The barn is also stocked very well with basic necessities (oil, spices, sugar, etc) so that when you do head to the market, you don't have to worry about whether you've remembered every little thing, but can focus on the main ingredients. The kitchen itself is also very well equipped with everything you'd need to prepare just about any meal. The bedrooms and living area are spacious and delightful. We had noting but peaceful sleep each night. Kenneth is also a wealth of information on the area and happy to share recommendations on everything from breakfast spots to nearby doctors. We highly recommend Kenneth's barn to anyone looking for an authentic Irish countryside experience. Absolutely incredible!

  • This property could be a case study on what is so fantastic about airbnb. A beautiful property with tons of character. An amazing location. And last, but definitely not least, a friendly, interesting, inviting host. We stayed here for three days on a monthlong trip to Ireland and England, but the moment we pulled into the drive we wished we had booked it longer. The coastal location is so picturesque and relaxing and the home and barn look to be straight from a magazine. Canice (aka Kenneth) met us on our arrival, showed us around and filled us in on things to do in the area. My wife loves to cook and he invited us to use anything from his extensive gardens, which we did to make herb pasta, bruschetta, and a number of other things in the barn's well equipped kitchen. We spent some time exploring in the area (Cork, Kinsale, Ballymaloe cooking school, etc.), but for the most part were content sleeping in, reading by the fire and going on walks on the surrounding property and beaches. To cap off our stay, Canice invited us over to his house for afternoon tea where we spent time swapping stories and relaxing in his sunroom which overlooks the ocean. If you're looking for a place to stay, I can't recommend this property highly enough.

  • I was researching accommodation for a wedding and was recommended to the barn by a very good friend. On viewing Kenneth's site I was in love. The decor and location was everything I could have wanted. I contacted the site and they were extremely helpful in lining up dates.

Canice sent me a link via (website hidden) maps to the barn and it was easy to find, just off Ballyshane strand. When we were arrived we were greeted by a friend Cathy, who showed us around. She had left out freshly baked bread and fresh laid eggs! She had even stocked the fridge with milk and butter. I was in awe of this place and how welcoming the owners were.

The house was amazing and equipped with anything you could want. The views were absolutely breathtaking and on Saturday we had the delight to see three wild hares racing around the fields. We had a slight issue with the internet which was our own error but Canice was on it immediately and his lovely friend came to make sure all was well. She also arrived the following day to make sure we had absolutely everything we needed and gave us a wonderful insight into Canice's decor!

The whole experience was absolutely out of this world. i wish I could wake up there every morning - unfortunately the real world requires my presence! I would highly recommend the barn for anyone looking for a quiet holiday. This location does require your own transport, so if you don't drive, take someone with you who does.

  • We had a great time at the Coastal Barn, we were greeted nicely by Kenneth neighbour Yvonne who showed us around and make sure we had everything we needed.

The Barn had all the comfort of home but we were in a farm like setting with chickens and donkeys.

The surroundings were fantastic. The beach was close, we really had a great time driving around the country roads and discovering new villages. and were looking forward to coming back to the Barn every night; wished we could have stayed longer.

Highly recommended; make sure you stay a few days.

  • We just returned from a 12 nights stay at the barn. Its just unbelievable how wonderful and exceptional this place is. Everything looks at least as on the pictures - often even better! Its a perfect place for those looking for silence and nature. The sea is just minutes away and gardens around the barn are very beautiful too. Hens and donkeys are around and just a short drive away are local markets to get everything you need to cook in the well equipped kitchen. Last but not least to mention Canice - as of today the best host we met on AirBnB. He equipped the barn with basic food, cooked for us, gave very good advice for trips, shops - just everything! He even gave us a short tour in Cork, the city close to the barn. It was a perfect holiday and for sure not the last time and canice place!

  • Wow! A very memorable Easter in a lovely remote location with amazing surroundings and a lovely host! Kenneth was really accommodating over the weekend and as others have mentioned stocked the kitchen with top notch essentials. His passion for interiors really shows as the barn is home to beautiful bedding, lovely antiques, art and many wonderful books to indulge in. A great base for exploring southern Ireland too (we drove to Killarney and did the Ring of Kerry one day). By the end of your stay you won't want to leave. Have already recommended to a colleague.

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Kenneth's farm. It was perfectly located on the south coast of Ireland, just a short drive from Cork. The barn was very spacious and nicely decorated. Kenneth brought us some homemade snacks for our stay which was a pleasant surprise! We enjoyed walking to the beach and through the fields on the cliffs. Highly recommended - we would definitely return again!
