We loved our time at the barn. It really is a most beautiful and interesting place to stay. It feels very remote and peaceful, yet there are lots of gorgeous places to visit within a short distance.
Canice was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome, meeting us on the main road on the day we arrived and leading us to the barn (the roads are narrow and winding but we managed not to get lost at any stage. Not so sure we would find it in the darkness of winter without a gps though!).
The barn and gardens themselves are incredibly lovely to spend time in. We loved to bring home delicious ingredients from around the area (there really is so much to chose from in this area!) and the gardens and cook in the kitchen at the barn. The barn even has really beautiful locally made dishes and plates. We were there in early September and for the most part we had beautiful weather and enjoyed eating outside and wandering around simply enjoying being there with the donkeys, the chickens, the cutest puppy, the amazing views... In the evenings we would light the stove and snuggle up inside, reading our way through the interesting books on cookery and art and design that fill the shelves and listening to lovely music. We would loved to have stayed longer and would love to go back!
Wow, what a stunning accommodation. My wife, children and I were completely blown away by the home and setting, as well as Keneth's excellent hospitality. This remarkably-styled farm house on an impressive property has everything you need for a great holiday stay and nothing that you don't. With a great yard, organic garden, plus cows, donkeys, free range chickens (all fenced in, naturally) and a short walk to an exceptional water view, it must be one of the nicest Air BnB properties in all of Ireland. Keneth communicates very well and is a gracious host. There are tons of fun activities around from surfing to biking, and much more in the coastal area plus Cork. The only challenge is finding the property for the first time. Its located down some twisty country roads, so if you're directionally-challenged as I am, it might be worthwhile to ask him to "guide you in" from an easier location in town if at all possible. In any case, you'll be thrilled you booked this property -- we certainly were.
Keneth ist ein ausgesprochen freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber.
Lage und Qualität der Unterkunft sind absolut empfehlenswert.
Sehr gute Organisation
This was absolutely the best Airbnb stay I've had. The house is simply beautiful, and the gardens and views are amazing. My husband and I spent a mini-honeymoon here, and it was perfect.
Keneth was out of town during our visit, but he checked in regularly, and his neighbor made us feel so welcome. I can't wait until we can visit again!
We were warmly welcome by Keneth`friend/ neighbour Yvonne who showed us around and was always there when we needed her.
We loved the fresh eggs and herbs /salad from " our " garden and enjoyed the good films/ books and music in "our" living room.
EVERYTHING was just perfect.
Keneth`converted barn is a piece of paradise on earth (stunning location, beautiful interior design)
We (2 adults 2 kids) had a lovely relaxed week in the barn. There is a lovely relaxed cosy atmosphere in the barn and the location of the barn is really secluded. Our daughters really enjoyed the chickens, geese, donkeys and cows! Kenneth was a great host, leaving essentials including towels and fresh flowers. And throughout the week we were offered more towels, firewood, bread , eggs etc Inch beach is only a 5 min drive and we would really recommend it. The roads around the area are quite remote so be prepared! Whitegate has a good little supermarket and playground as does Cloyne both of which are 10-15 mins away. We had lovely food out in blackbird in ballycotton and in ballymaloe house which are only a little further afield. We also did day trips to cork city, clonakility and kinsale, and fota island and cobh. We also went to trabolgan which is only 10 mins away. We would definitely stay again if he could somehow extend the barn as soon we will have 3 kids!
Keneth made our stay unforgettable. The House is wonderful and has everything you need. Location is just beautiful and a good place to relax and go for walks. Cork, Kinsale and Ballycotton are nice places to visit and easy to reach by car. I liked the Donkey so much :-) Thanks Keneth once again for everything we had a wonderful time.
