Annie made us feel totally and completely at home both in her house and in the environs. She inspired us to explore the dunes and great hikes in the area and we enjoyed every moment. Because Guadalupe is a small, agricultural town, we had a first hand opportunity to see where our food was produced. We would be happy and honored to return.
I really enjoyed my stay with Anne and am sorry I couldn't stay for longer. Anne sent me fantastic directions to take in the best of the scenary (and avoid much of the traffic) for my drive from LAX and despite my late booking and arrival late in the evening, she made me feel super-welcome. I felt very comfortable and it was much more like staying at a friend's house (which I prefer).
Anne also provided a light and healthy breakfast, which I really appreciated, and great directions to places I wouldn't have otherwise known to visit. The nearby sand dunes reserve is amazing and I wish I'd had more time to sit on the beach enjoying it. I would definitely return to stay here and, as a single traveler, really appreciate the reasonable price Anne charges compared to comparable rooms in this region.
Fantastic experience. I arrived later than planned, but Anne gave me instructions for arrival and it all worked out just fine. She even volunteered to give me a ride into town, which I wasn't expecting. She went far above and beyond what was needed and I can't thank her enough! The house was also beautiful and very clean. I highly recommend this AirBnB.
We arrived at a time Anne wasn't home. She gave us excellent directions to get to her place and how to make ourselves comfortable. Her place is very well decorated with lots of eclectic decor. Overall the place was very clean. We had a great stay.
Anne was the ultimate hostess; she greeted us, made us comfortable and provided wonderful suggestions for things to do in the area. The mints on our pillow and loving puppy further enhanced our stay. We will return!
Yes, Anne gave me clear directions and was very clear about where everything was. It was fun going to a place that was a little away and different than usual places. I want to have more time there next time. Sometimes, Anne's message were almost like obscure poetry.

About the Host, Anne
I am a gypsy who enjoys traveling and welcoming travelers! I have volunteered and lived in Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, South Africa, Uganda and been involved in peace and social justice work all of my life. Guadalupe is vintage California and listed in Heart of the Land by the Nature Conservancy as one of the last great places.
Bring your bikes and ride to the beach to enjoy the sunset and the moon rising and the cilantro growing in the fields.
I have been a member of Servas since 1970, an international peace group, t Also host warmshowers where I welcome cyclists traveling around the world. Come treasure Guadalupe !. When you want all the snazz of Californication head south to Santa Barbara and north to San Luis Obispo. When you want abit of vintage California Guadalupe is a gem on the central coast.
