Interaction with Guests
★★★ ABOUT ME, YOUR HOST ★★★
Hi, I'm Mark! I live in the other bedroom in the apartment, and I'm at home most days working. I'll be around in the evenings cooking, watching movies, and chilling out. And I do love to chat! Have you been travelling? Tell me about it!
I'm more than partial to bike rides and afternoons of yoga and Frisbee in the park so if you're about I'd love you to join me. And if you're here over the weekend then who knows, we may even get to go out on the town!
Also, I've been living in Osaka for ten years and I speak Japanese fluently. I've had tonnes of family and friends over to visit so I've been all over from Hokkaido to Okinawa more times than I can count. I know the best tourist spots all over Japan, and I also have my own special favourite sites, restaurants, and tips which I'm happy to share. If you need any help organising your trip, I'm your man!

★★★ TRANSPORT ★★★
There are three subway stations within a 10 minute walk of the apartment, and easy access to the main train lines heading out of the city to the various other stops on your itinerary. Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, Wakayama, Hiroshima, Tokyo...
Closest subway stations...
★ Sakaisuji-Hommachi - 6 minutes

★ Hommachi - 10 minutes
★ Shinsaibashi - 10 minutes by subway

Easy bike access is something Tokyo lacks, and nothing screams Osaka quite like riding about the city on a shopping bike!
Other Things to Note
★★★ FAQ ★★★
Q. Since I will have the trip on my own, is the location of your accommodation safe for a single lady?
A. Yes, the area where apartment is situated is very safe. It is called Sakaisuji-Hommachi. It is an up-market neighbourhood, and single women often walk around to and from their apartments, workplaces and the subway station.
My apartment is 100m from the main road, and only a five minute walk from the subway station. It is in the middle of the business district, so during the day time there are a lot of office workers around. It's actually quite busy! During the night it is much quieter, mostly there are office workers and couples visiting the many restaurants found in the area.
To give you an idea of the local atmosphere, my girlfriend often comes to my apartment alone, in the late at night, and sometimes drunk!
The apartment has a gate and front door. The apartment building has security cameras in the lifts and entrance area, and an auto-lock system on the main entrance. No non-residents can enter the building.
I think you will find staying in my apartment in Sakaisuji-Hommachi to be convenient, relaxing and safe.
Q. Will there be other guests share the accommodation at a time?
A. During your stay you will be the only guest staying in my apartment with me. Your room is private and you will have your own key, so you can come and go as you please.

★★★ HOUSE RULES ★★★
You are free to treat the apartment like your own home when you are inside, but I please ask that you are quiet; very, very quiet outside the apartment. In Japan it is extremely bad manners to disturb people in their houses.
★ Please keep as close to silent as possible in the courtyard, lobby, elevator and public halls.
★ No waiting in the halls or lobby.
Please either wait in the apartment, or completely outside the building.
★ Sorry, but no pets allowed in the building.
★ No Smoking anywhere in the building.
★ I know that accidents sometimes happen, and in the event that guests cause damage to my apartment, furniture, or furnishings I will do my best to clean or fix the item and cover all costs incurred in doing so. If, however, the damage is permanent and is outside of expected wear and tear I may reach out to you for help to cover the cost of a replacement.
Just keep the place clean and tidy, and leave it pretty much as you found it, and I'm a happy bunny.
From Jul 19 - 22, 2015 the minimum stay is 3 nights.
The environment are clean and tidy. It is easy to find Mark's home. Mark is very nice and friendly. The toilet tissue are so cute which is hello kitty. The provided milk chocolate is tasty. All in all we are satisfied with the room.
Mark, Thank you for hosting us in these days. I and Carmen really enjoyed the stay in your apartment.
The apartment location is very convenient, which is around 5 mins from the subway station by foot. Without the GPS, I could easily find my way to your apartment by following the crystal clear instruction. Moreover, the apartment is 2-3 stops away from the Shinsaibashi & Namba Station, it totally fulfills my eating and shopping needs.
As I arrived Osaka very early at 08:00a.m., Mark was very kind to allow me to put my luggage into his apartment and pass me the key & portable WIFI device before formal check-in at 16:00. Really appreciated and sorry for waking you up so early. My apology.
When I got into the apartment in the evening, I was so impressed that the apartment is spacious and tidy as the photos of Airbnb. The bedroom is comfy especially the bed, I could fall into sleep immediately in past 4 nights.
If anyone else are going to stay in Osaka, I would strongly recommend him/ her to stay in Mark's apartment.
Nice enviornment and the location is very convenient which is very close to the jr station. Its an unforgettable experience for us. We enjoyed our trip in Mark's place.
The 6 nights stay in the apartment were great! Great location, great apartment, great people (Mark & Saya) and we really enjoyed our stay here. Mark was very helpful by helping us to get around Osaka and especially getting the USJ's express pass for us at the very last minute. Really appreciate it! Besides, the room was spacious and it's exactly look alike in the pictures. We will definitely back to stay in the apartment!
Great location, big, comfy space and wonderful host!
Our experience staying with Mark was exactly what we hoped for from an AirBnB stay - a homely place to stay at a reasonable price and someone with inside knowledge to show us the ropes.
Mark was a very gracious host who made us feel right at home and introduced us to the city. He struck the perfect balance between being easy going and giving us space and being enthusiastic and friendly. He even invited us out and introduced us to a number of his friends. This is what made Osaka feel almost like home for us and made it a stand out of our whole Japan trip.
Mark has been living in Japan for almost ten years so was able to answer all the questions we had as well as make some great recommendations. And always with a smile!
We would definitely recommend him and the accommodation.
Mark have been an expectionally wonderful host during our stay at his place. The pink room we had is spacious and the bed is very comfortable. Most importantly, the place is kept impeccably neat and tidy. Appreciate the nights where Mark lit the candles and drew the curtains when we got back to our rooms. The apartment is situated about 8 mins walk to the train stations and there are several restaurants nearby. It is a very safe district. The portable wifi provided for free really have been a great help for us during our whole stay! And Thank You for booking our USJ and the fast pass tickets the night before so agreeably! We truly have enjoyed our stay and Thank you for making our holiday a wondeful one.
Mark was a fantastic host and you will feel like staying at your home. Mark's apartment is spacious, tidy and clean. It is indeed my very first travel to Japan and Mark's provided me so much additional information no matter restaurants to eat, things to buy and places to go. Definitely you won't need to spend a single second in planning those as it is ready to go after you packed up and received the wonderful map tailor made by Mark. The map included everything you need and got the best instruction to the apartment from the airport. It has made me so convenient and easy for me even as a first time traveller. Your experience is more than you thought. Mark invited me to join his dinner gathering with friends as he know I am a solo traveller. It just made me feel back the happy moments three years ago while I was staying in Sydney in a home stay. Really enjoyed the moment during I stayed in.
I will definitely come back again probably in a few months time and would highly recommend to my friends as well.

If there's one dish you can guarantee I'll bring to a picnic, it's a Frisbee.
