Enjoy the private three-bedroom guest wing of a secluded 90-acre estate overlooking Monterey Bay. Your group has its own bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, laundry area, dining table and private interior guest space. The owners live elsewhere in the main residence; no indoor guest areas are shared. Watch fog drift through the forest, sailboats on the bay, and unforgettable sunsets. Quiet, restorative escape just minutes to downtown, the Boardwalk, and an easy drive to Silicon Valley
The space
Guests enjoy exclusive use of the private three-bedroom guest wing of Avéline, a secluded 90-acre estate in the Santa Cruz Mountains with sweeping views across Monterey Bay.
The guest wing includes three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a comfortable living room with a large smart TV, Wi-Fi, a laundry room, and a dining table with seating for four. A mini refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, paper plates, cups, napkins, and basic serving supplies are provided for light meals, breakfast, or takeout. Please note that the guest wing does not include a full kitchen.
The owners live in a separate part of the main residence. There are no shared indoor guest spaces, allowing your group to relax in privacy while still enjoying the reassurance of having hosts nearby.
Outside, the estate is surrounded by redwoods, open meadows, gardens, and expansive coastal scenery. Guests may see fog moving through the forest, wildlife crossing the grounds, sailboats on the bay, and dramatic sunsets stretching toward Monterey and Big Sur.
Avéline feels wonderfully removed from everyday life, yet it is only a short drive from downtown Santa Cruz, the Boardwalk, beaches, the Yacht Harbor, Roaring Camp, the Mystery Spot, and many excellent restaurants. It is also within convenient driving distance of Silicon Valley.
Guest access
Guests have private access to the entire three-bedroom guest wing, including two full bathrooms, the living room, laundry area, dining table, and the guest amenities provided there.
Guests may also enjoy designated outdoor areas of the estate, including the surrounding grounds and scenic spaces made available during their stay. The swimming pool may be available for guest use; please note that it is solar heated, so the water temperature depends on recent sunshine and weather conditions. The hot tub is not currently heated.
The owners live in a separate portion of the main residence. No indoor guest spaces are shared. Other areas of the main house, private owner spaces, outbuildings, and non-designated portions of the property are not included in the rental.

Easier, more accessible trails are located closer to the home, while more advanced trails lead toward the farther reaches of the estate. Some trails are steep, uneven, or more strenuous, so guests should choose routes suited to their comfort level and wear appropriate footwear.
Wildlife sightings are common and may include wild turkeys, deer, foxes, bobcats, and a wide variety of birds, including red-tailed hawks and woodpeckers. Because this is a rural forest setting, guests may also encounter insects, changing weather, fog, fallen branches, and uneven terrain.
