Beautiful Trullo for holiday home in Ceglie. Rent for short periods, the trullo is immersed in the beautiful Itria Valley. The Trullo is placed in an excellent location with easy reach of the neighboring countries. In fact the Trullo is just 5 minutes far from the center of Ceglie Messapica, 20 km from the town of Martina Franca, 16 km from Cisternino and 11 km from Ostuni the white city. Ostuni's beaches (Blue Flag 2011) at 20 minutes and the calm of the Ionian Sea to 45 min.
Ideal for a holiday to discover the traditional gastronomy of Puglia, in contact with nature and with all the sights of Puglia.
The Trullo is equipped with everything you need for your stay and can accommodate from 2 to 4 people. (there is also a sofa bed ). The Trullo is composed of 4 cones: a living area with air conditioner, an alcove with double bed, an alcove with double sofa bed, an alcove with a fireplace / sink and refrigerator, new bathroom with shower and washing machine. Outside: large square stone, local kitchen / grill / oven, dining table, gazebo, benches, a relaxing garden which follows its own grounds with olive trees, fruit trees and vineyards.
The Trullo was unique and a great way to experience farm life in Puglia in a different time. Having an open fire was great for warmth and also the calm one gets from sitting and watching the wood burn. The location is beautiful being in the middle of a vineyard, olive grove and vegetable plot in the countryside. The location is also excellent for visiting other places of interest and easy to return to after a days driving. The hosts were very kind and generous with the firewood and help in finding local food although winter is probably not the best time to "discover" local restaurants as some close in winter. However, we considered our time in Ceglie Messapica to be a delightful Pugliesi experience!
Paolo [and his family] are excellent hosts. They responded quickly to our queries prior to the trip. We were met by Ana [Paolo’s mother] on arrival and she gave a very comprehensive briefing on the Trulli and the local area, albeit in Italian. We were able to make a reasonable translation of her comments/advice using our cell phone translator. The house was stocked with immediate breakfast provisions fresh fruit etc and the family arrived with a four course meal for two on our second night. All very tasty and totally unexpected.
The Trulli house is on a working farm [olives, grapes, and a host of other produce], It is on a side road off SS581 about 2.5 kms outside Ceglie Messapico. Paolo provided excellent instructions and photos to enable us to arrive without any difficulty. The Airbnb photos are accurate and the Trulli house is not only a pleasure to stay in but provides a unique country experience, not to be missed. The house comprises a central living space with alcoves off for bedrooms , inside kitchen large open fire place and separate modern bathroom. Cooking is done in a separate kitchen accessed from outside to save from having cooking smells inside the house. The bathroom has a large window for natural light and ventilation. The house is extremely secure. Cooling is easily achieved by opening windows [available in all rooms] and for the cooler part of the year, there are wall mounted heaters and air conditioners.
The house is well equipped for self catering and offers both initial cooking [oven and gas top cookers] and reheat [microwave] the furnishings and bed are comfortable. The apartment was spotlessly clean on our arrival.
There are many excellent restaurants in the area; indeed, this is one of the key attractions of the town for both tourists and locals alike. [We can recommend Al Fornello da Ricci on Via Montevicolo– a one star Michelin which has very reasonable prices].
Two mountain bikes are provided [free of charge] but access to a vehicle would be a definite advantage if one wishes to venture beyond the town. The railway station is on the near side of the town if one wishes to use that means of transport to visit the larger centres on the coast [Bari, Brindisi, Taranto or even Lecce to the south.]
Overall, seven night stay in Ceglie Messapico was most enjoyable and the setting was magical. Paolo’s Trulli house provided us with a good base for exploring northern Puglia. Thank you, Paolo and family for making our stay in Ceglie so enjoyable.
We are a family of five and stayed two nights at the trullo. Paolo's mother and sister were very welcoming and we enjoyed it very much to live in the trullo. We felt like in a small castle in a fairy tale. Although the trullo is quite small we had everything we needed. Especially the garden is very beautiful and charming. The big kids loved to go around the area that is surrounded by olive trees (two bikes were provided). The small one loved to play at the small well and to sit on the hammock. We would like to come back to this romantic spot.
Staying at Trullo Cassed was a wonderful experience for our group of 4. Paolo's parents were very attentive & helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed to be comfortable, even bringing us fresh fruit from their fields and bottles of their homemade wine. It was easy to find the place with Paolo's detailed & pictorial directions. Once found it was easy to come & go. We loved eating breakfast outside in the outdoor eating area. The trullo also was very comfortable for sleeping. We would love to return here sometime & recommend it to others looking for an unusual yet comfortable place to stay.
We had a wonderful stay this September at Trullo Casedd. I had always wanted to stay in a trullo and this place did not disappoint. I would particularly recommended for a couple but there is another double sofa. This trullo still has its rustic appeal while recently being renovated. The garden is beautiful, with rare green lawn thanks to the water pump, with a great hammock and lovely shaded area. The owners Ana and Vicenzo are most welcoming giving us a tour of the extensive olive groves, vines and fruit trees which we were encouraged to help ourselves. Vicenzo's homemade wines were great. We also had fresh eggs and Ana's tasty chicken and focaccia. You have the run of the trullo and grounds and plenty of pretty towns to visit and enjoy local cuisine. Good beaches near Punta Cane.
We had a lovely time in the "Trullo". Vincenzo and Anna prepared somethings for us for our late arrival and also once during the week!
The place is very nice, exactly as I expected from the pictures. The country around is beatiful and the Trullo war always at the right temperature even in the hot August days.
Ceglie (the town close to the Trullo) is very nice and has a lot of good restaurant and "Osteria". Also the see is not very far and we had really a nice and relaxing vacation.
Thanks Anna and Vincenzo for the lovely stay! We are looking forward to come back.
Grazie Anna e Vincenzo per l'accoglienza! Torneremo.

We were four people staying in the Trullo, we had a wonderful time during our stay! The house was as cool as a cave during the middle of the day and warm in the evenings. The property was beautiful and the owners were very accomodating. Although my spanish was rusty we were able to communicate. The family one evening even brought over a feast of local dishes, wine made from the vines on the property. On one walk of the property we ran into Vincent while he worked in the fields and he gave us a tour of both the Trullo property as well as the land behind his own house pointing out different plants and answering our questions on the local region.
The city nearest to Trullo is lovely, they are not as accustomed to tourists as other areas of Italy but most of the time there was at least one waiter able to explain the menu in English.
We'd definitely come back again for another relaxing souther italian vacation!
