Calm and convenient location

Our west side two bedroom cottage is located in a very quiet neighborhood just 2 blocks from Deschutes River trail/kayak rapids. There's a large kitchen, gas fireplace, AC, new hot tub, fenced yard for dogs, WIFI, cable TV, BBQ. Short 10 min walk to downtown for restaurants, galleries, parks and shopping. Hike or bike miles on the Deschutes River trail directly from the house.

The space
Our small 1924 Bungalow is in a very quiet, family neighborhood within easy walking of downtown. We are dog-friendly, with a fee of $100 per stay (2 dog max). We will charge a per night fee of $10/night per dog for reservations less than 3 nights, which we will collect just before check-in. One of the best walking/running trails in town is a block away. Its a family kind of place for those those wanting a retreat from noise. So no parties! A long term renter lives in a back cottage, separately fenced, and does not use your backyard. The backyard and hot tub are for your use only.

Other things to note
This is a friendly, quiet neighborhood so please respect our neighbors. We want to ensure that the Second Street Bungalow is an asset to the neighborhood. Please clean up well after dogs and keep them from barking. And no loud late-night parties, please! In case you didn't get that message already! :-) We have a couple of bikes in the basement you can use any time.

Neighborhood highlights

We love the quiet neighborhood. Everyone walks everywhere. Gallaries, restaurants and Mirror Pond are a 10 minutes walk away, along the river and city park. Our favorite off leash dog parks are easy to access, with Hillside and Rimrock being our favorites. Your dogs will love theses places. Walk to downtown for dozens of great restaurants.

We bought this house in August 2013 and moved back to Bend from Colorado 8 years ago, having just bought a house just a mile from the Bungalow. John is a retired Oceanographer and Sally a retired forester. We lived here for 13 years from 1987 to 1999 and know the area, especially the backcountry, really well. There is back cottage we rent long term (30+ days). It is separated from the Bungalow by a tall fence, assuring privacy. Bungalow guests have exclusive use of the back yard and hot tub.
