Description

The space

Steps from the best patisserie and best pizza in Halifax and in the area of the city's best new restaurants. The bedroom is on the second floor and has a queen bed. The house has an added bonus of gym equipment on the bottom level including free weights, treadmill and stationary bike. A gas barbecue is available outside. The entire house could be rented for $845 per week for one or two week periods if available.

Guest access

Guests have access to everything in the house and in the morning coffee, muffins, toast, and fresh fruit are available. Guests are welcome to prepare eggs as they wish.

Interaction with guests

I will interact with guests as little or as much as they want depending on my schedule.

The neighborhood

The Hydrostone homes are almost 100 years old and have been designated as city heritage properties. The area is very convenient to the main city access routes, the downtown and shopping malls. However, Halifax's growing fine dining scene is within easy walking distance. The main supermarket is a 10 minute walk, Fort Needham park and the Halifax explosion memorial bell tower is at the end of the street, 3 coffee shops are within a 3 minute walk, and the Coastal Cafe which is rated "Halifax's best breakfast" is nearby.

Getting around

The main bus route is one street away.

Other things to note

Coastal Cafe and Mary's Place Cafe are both excellent and are examples of the gems that typically only the locals know about. Fortunate that both are within a short walk!

Dale was a great host. He was able to accommodate my late night arrival and recommended some great local restaurants to check out during my stay in Halifax. His house has a sweet little garden patio in the backyard and the bedroom/bathroom were very clean, and large.

Dale was a superior host and his Hydrostone home was the perfect launching pad for our exploration of Halifax and its environs. A shared bath was beautifully navigated, the bedroom was sumptuous and comfortable (complete with a Hudson blanket, no less!). Sparkling water, fresh cherries, and coffee every morning were bonuses.

Dale was a great host, kept a clean and quiet home. I was inundated with work while I was there, crashing early and working early mornings. Despite my odd hours, my stay was easy. The house is in a great location, and it was a nice way to stay in a residential part of the city rather than downtown. Dale's place is why you use AirBnb.

We stayed one night. Beautiful clean home with lots of charm. Located in older Halifax close to great restaurants and minutes drive from harbour. Super comfortable bed..had a great sleep. Dale was friendly and accommodating. We slept in a bit and awoke to homemade muffins and a great cup of coffee.

Dale's was the perfect place to relax after a red-eye from Calgary. Clean and spacious, and with an ultra-comfortable bed. All in a quiet neighborhood.
