Thank you, Joan and David, for sharing this lovely casita - Joe and I had a wonderful 2-week visit! The location was convenient to shopping and night life, as well as an easy drive to our favorite mountain and desert hiking destinations. The historic neighborhood, local shops, and nearby park and zoo offered lots of opportunities for walking versus driving. The casita was exactly as described, super-neat and clean, and thoughtfully stock with all the necessities. A very inviting and comfortable place to stay, with wonderful hosts, too!
My daughter and I arrived in Tucson feeling a bit under the weather but perked up with the friendly welcome from David and Joan. We were given a tour of the guest house and the sweet backyard and also provided with an excellent notebook re. use of household appliances as well as information re. local businesses and places of interest. The entire space was clean and organized, the bed and sofa were very comfortable, the shower was wonderful and the skylights brightened our days. We felt safe and secure in this lovely setting. David and Joan were the kind of
hosts who seem to enjoy and take pride in providing a comfortable experience for guests. We would not hesitate to request a stay at the "Cozy Guest House " on our next visit to Tucson !
David and Joan accommodated our change in arrival time and welcomed us warmly. Their "how to" manual was really nice - restaurants, stores, instruction manuals, etc. The casita was decorated in what we've come to call AZ modern; neat, clean, comfortable, warm tones, and interestingly different from our Northeast familiar. They gave us the tour, introduced us to the hibernating turtles, discussed composting, gardening and Shakespeare and made us feel like we were visiting friends rather than simply renting a room. Good hosts, interesting people. We could relate to their experience. We enjoyed our stay.
Warm welcome from Joan & David, including flexibility around my late evening arrival and a generous ride to the bus depot for my trip to Phoenix. Description very accurate. Right on bus route to downtown. Fun to wander their neighbourhood and look at the interesting houses, trees, cacti and flowers. Joan and David have also put a lot of attention into tasteful décor of the suite, with no detail left out!
The description of the cottage was accurate and the hosts provided several amenities like great coffee, some teas, olive oil for cooking - etc which was very nice. A special surprise was some gluten free bakery items.
We enjoyed our stay and found it very comfortable and homey.
Having laundry there was a big plus since my husband is disabled.
I just spent four weeks here and absolutely loved it. It was home, not just a place to stay. As has been said by so many other reviewers, Joan & David are terrific hosts and have thought of everything. The place is charming with a lot of high quality details and impeccably maintained. Saying the kitchen is a kitchenette is not doing it justice. It lacks only a full size range, but the induction hot plate is an amazing little appliance and there is a convection toaster oven. You can definitely prepare meals here.
This property is built of genuine adobe and you just feel like you are part of the real Tucson of old. It is in the San Clemente Historic District in a lovely quiet neighborhood - great for walking or running.
Yes, there is road noise during rush hour, but only the very narrowest end of the building faces the road and with the front door closed, it is really not a problem. You don't notice it at all in the bedroom. I almost always sleep with earplugs when I travel and I never needed to here, it was very quiet. I miss it already!
This is such a wonderful air bnb- really cozy living area, great kitchen, walk in shower, comfy bed and pet friendly too! . Joan met us with the keys and showed us each room and we shortly met David after, who grabbed us some fruit to eat. Lovely hosts, lovely spot. Would definitely stay here again :)
Both recently retired, we have lived in Tucson for 19 years and fallen in love with the desert Southwest. David, originally from Michigan, retired from a purchasing career in natural foods. Joan, originally from Philadelphia, retired from accounting for non-profit organizations. We enjoy the local music scene (like our community radio station), gardening, and discovering the history, archaeology and culture of this part of the country.
