I was looking for a room on short notice, and Lisel did a good job of getting back to me quickly. (I contacted her in the morning looking for a bed for that night.) The room itself was as advertised: Small, but a quiet place to spend the night. I was only staying for one night, so it did the job just fine. The common areas, including a backyard, looked nice, although I didn't have time to use them.

The host, Lisel, was very friendly and accommodating. The small room where we stayed was very cozy: 2 comfy single beds with lots of pillows and blankets available. The walls are thin between the rooms on these floors, but other residents are considerate. The brownstone has a bathroom very close to the room on the floor where we stayed, as well as a spacious and pretty fancy bathroom with a shower downstairs where the kitchen is. We didn't make use of the courtyard as it was pretty chilly, but it's adorable. The location is perfect: a few blocks away from Union station on the R.

Lisel's place is awesome. She is so nice, the place is clean and near to so many places. You will have Atlantic Av station to take the subway just a couple of blocks away. Also you will help Haiti's people because some of the money that you paid for the place is for charity. I'll highly recommend to stay here.

Basically: I walked, went to sleep, woke up and left. So, that was great. Proximity to Gorilla Coffee is a huge plus. Definitely preferable to the ridiculously expensive hotels in the Gowanus.

Enjoyed the stay very much. I was warmly welcomed and felt being taken care of during my whole stay. Lisel - thank you so much! The location was great, just a few blocks away from public transportation, both to JFK and Manhattan.
