Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Tom and Meriwether have a beautiful home and it is very clean and well maintained. It is perfectly located for a visit to Shenandoah and the many local breweries and wineries in the area. We did have a little trouble sleeping due to a lot of neighbor's dogs barking through the night and what sounded like a few cat fights. There is also a train that runs right near the house which caused some sleep disturbance as well. None of this was an issue that could have been prevented but just something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper and you visit during the hot summer months when the windows are open all night. Also, make sure they explain how to use the shower, we couldnt get it to work! Overall a great place to stay, our dog Dexter loved the house and we really appreciated the beer and wine and breakfast they left for us. Thank you Tom and Meriwether!

    Response from Tom And Meriwether:

We regret that you had trouble sleeping. The train and its proximity to the house is mentioned in the description. We haven't ever heard any dogs or cats. For the most part the neighborhood is Very Quiet. This is in-between seasons so most people enjoy opening the windows and breathing in the cool fresh country air and listening to the crickets!
The A/C window units have already been installed with the warm spring weather coming up! Hope you have a nice summer!

  • This was a perfect location for us! Equidistant from downtown Charlottesville and Nelson County (we have cousins in both places). Really close to great hiking paths, wineries, and everything you could possibly want. The house was the perfect size for us (2 people and a dog) as well. When we arrived there was bread, cheese, beer and wine waiting for us. From beginning to end it was really a top notch experience with a very reasonable price. Could not recommend it more!

  • Tom and Meriwether were wonderful. Tom made sure we had access and was available if we had any questions. The place is lovely and we truly appreciated the wine, crackers, yogurt granola parfait, and coffee. Our puppy "Rosie" loved the place and area. She was a little surprised by close the train was but loved the back yard, chasing the birds, and looking at the stars. Cute shops, restaurants, cafes, and parks near by.

  • Tom and Meriwether's place in Corzet was wonderful. The house itself is charming and was great for a getaway weekend. It was great to be able to cook in the kitchen and it had all the utensils and such you could want to make cooking easy. It was a cold snowy weekend, but the house was such a cozy place to stay. Also conveniently located to restaurants, wineries and cute shops. I'd recommend this to anyone hoping to have a relaxing, quiet getaway. I'm hoping to return in spring or summer to enjoy the outside a bit more (there was a back deck that looked particularly inviting).

  • This cottage surpassed our expectations beyond belief! Beautiful, cozy, and well kept, the hosts accommodated on a very last minute request! We were welcomed with local beer and wine and orange juice and bagels for breakfast in the morning! Didn't stay long, but hoping to return to this hidden gem of Virginia!

  • Wow, this was just a fantastic experience from start to finish. The house is cozy but seemed quite spacious, and it was outfitted with everything I could possibly want during my stay (including a hair dryer!). The bed was comfortable and the living room and kitchen were great for lounging. I stayed for 3 nights during a cold snap in January, and the baseboard heaters in each room did a great job of keeping the place comfortable. Likewise, the carport saved me from having to dig my car out of the snow. I personally thought the location was (email hidden)'s close to major roads and a very easy drive to all major attractions, but it's tucked back into the woods so that you never hear traffic noise (just the train, which was surprisingly quiet and I rarely noticed it). The hosts were friendly and communicative, and they texted me during my stay to make sure I had everything I needed. It was a really nice (and delicious) touch to have local beer, bread, cheese, and wine available when I arrived. Thanks again, Tom & Meriwether!

  • This was such a wonderful-cozy place to arrive!! The house was warm when we arrived, and a wonderful selection of local beer and hard cider waited for us in the Fridge, along with some wonderful bread, cheese, and breakfast goodies! Tom and Meriwether were wonderful getting in touch with before hand and during our stay! I'm from the area, and I was so gracious to be able to have such a wonderful place to be able to stay at to show my newly wed wife the blue ridge mountains! We definitely would stay here again if ever in the area!

  • We had a lovely stay in this quaint Crozet cottage! The house itself is very cute: perfectly maintained, nicely furnished, and conveniently located between Shenandoah NP and Charlottesville's many restaurants, shops, activities, etc. As a bonus, Tom and Meriwether stocked the house with bread & cheese, local wine, local beers, and more. We enjoyed sitting out on the little deck and indulging in these goodies after our drive. If you're looking for a pet & wallet-friendly hotel alternative in this area, Tom & Meriwether's place is a GREAT alternative. I hope we can return for more adventure in the spring. Enjoy!

  • This is a wonderful place! So many thoughtful touches, and beautiful, elegant, warm decorating. The bed is super comfortable, the kitchen a great place to cook and hang out. Tom is always available if you ever have a need or question, but not hovering in any way. My family and friends have stayed here four times, and every time it works out perfectly. Thanks so much!!
