  • Great place to stay (email hidden)ere are firefly's in the backyard that are very cool ~ we don't have them where we live in FL. The internet speed was good and everything that we needed they had included. The washer/dryer worked and they included all the soaps / sprays. Chilled glasses in the freezer, very classy.

  • My husband and I had a great stay at Tom’s and Meriwether’s cottage in Crozet, VA. The property was lovely, just as shown in the pictures, and the location was perfect: pretty countryside at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We had a fantastic time cycling the quiet country roads there and loved the nearby coffee shop. Highly recommended and we will most definitely be back.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at this home. The hosts thought of everything we could have wanted, and the house was comfortable, beautifully decorated, and conveniently located. We especially loved the hospitable touch of local treats awaiting us when we arrived -- a bottle of wine, two bottles of beer, a loaf of bread, and cheese. It (email hidden) to get away for a romantic weekend, and we will definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity!

  • I would recommend A Place to Stay on Crozet to any couple, single or small family. Family and friends have stayed here multiple times. Tom and Meriwether always add wonderful thoughtful touches. Homemade parfait style breakfast treats were a big hit. Wine, cheese and bread too. The house is relaxing and comfortable. Five stars!

  • Had a wonderful weekend at Crozet. The cabin is really well taken care of and is extremely comfortable. Nice big kitchen and a great grill. Plus my beagle loved sniffing around the yard.

It is minutes from the south entrance to Shenandoah National Park, so it is close to great hiking and wildlife watching (we actually saw a black bear).

Loved the local beer and wine, and the breakfast was a great treat that saved us time in the morning. I can't recommend this place enough. I will definitely book it again.

  • My boyfriend and I recently came home from A place to Stay and our experience was so much better than what we hooked for. The house is beautiful and relaxing, the scenery in Crozet was beautiful. Tom and Meriwether were so great to work with. We are definitely going back to stay at this house.

  • Tom and Meriwether have a beautiful home and it is very clean and well maintained. It is perfectly located for a visit to Shenandoah and the many local breweries and wineries in the area. We did have a little trouble sleeping due to a lot of neighbor's dogs barking through the night and what sounded like a few cat fights. There is also a train that runs right near the house which caused some sleep disturbance as well. None of this was an issue that could have been prevented but just something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper and you visit during the hot summer months when the windows are open all night. Also, make sure they explain how to use the shower, we couldnt get it to work! (email hidden) to stay, our dog Dexter loved the house and we really appreciated the beer and wine and breakfast they left for us. Thank you Tom and Meriwether!

    Response from Tom And Meriwether:

We regret that you had trouble sleeping. The train and its proximity to the house is mentioned in the description. We haven't ever heard any dogs or cats. For the most part the neighborhood is Very Quiet. This is in-between seasons so most people enjoy opening the windows and breathing in the cool fresh country air and listening to the crickets!
The A/C window units have already been installed with the warm spring weather coming up! Hope you have a nice summer!

  • This was a perfect location for us! Equidistant from downtown Charlottesville and Nelson County (we have cousins in both places). Really close to great hiking paths, wineries, and everything you could possibly want. The house was the perfect size for us (2 people and a dog) as well. When we arrived there was bread, cheese, beer and wine waiting for us. From beginning to end it was really a top notch experience with a very reasonable price. Could not recommend it more!
