Richmond is in south London. 20 minutes by overground train to Waterloo station. The district line(green line) goes to the center of the city(St.James Park, Westminster, Kensington) in under 30 minutes.
A number of shops, restaurants, pubs bakeries, cafes, a public library, a park and the riverside is close by the flat.
Only a short walk from Richmond train station.
Towels and bed linen provided.
Take the overground train from Victoria Station if your flight lands at Gatwick. Change at Clapham Junction. Then take the train calling at Richmond, it should be a few stops.
If coming from Heathrow, The 490 bus takes you from Terminal 5 to Richmond.
Alternatively, you could take the Piccadilly underground line from Heathrow to Hammersmith, then change onto the District Line and take the next tube directly to Richmond. Take the Piccadilly line to Hounslow East and get on the H37 or H22 buses to Richmond. Or, change at South Ealing for the 65 bus (Richmond & Kingston).
If you're coming by bus from Heathrow, there is a bus called the 285, it runs about every 10 minutes and runs a 24x7 (website hidden) starts at the small bus station next to Terminal 3, if you're into T 1 or 2 you pick it up at the Central Bus Station, if you're into T4 then get the Heathrow Express (free) to T3.
Get off the bus at Teddington after about 30 minutes, which is about a mile short of Richmond. From here there are quite a few buses through Richmond, take number 37 and get off opposite Waitrose supermarket next to Lichfield Court.
Thank you so much to Umut. He was very friendly and supportive, helped with train stations from the airport to Richmond and even picked me up from the station to find the way to the apartment. He answered all my questions about the surroundings. It was a great stay.
I had my room, could also use the living room, and of course the kitchen and the bathroom. The apartment was clean and a nice place to live.
Next time when I am in Richmond I will come back.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
nice guy/ cool flat :) !!
Staying at Umut's for a week was very pleasant, he's very easy-going and made us feel like home.
I must say the bed actually is a double bed (standard size) with a mattress pad for extra comfort.
Would definitely return.
All the best to you!
Everything as described except for one fact that the bed of this size is not ideal for two bigger guys
The location is fabulous and very well connected with Rail as well as Buses. The flat is fresh and well done with everything pretty clean n tastefully done. Supermarkets to high end stores everything is just outside the building complex. One thing that I rate very highly is the safety and it is very much the case with Richmond, which is an elitist hub with lot of scenic beauty & dining options by the riverside or hill parks. It is definitely a good value for money.
Umut is a nice guy trying to make it big in media & art. He is willing to take guests around and hand them over brochures of what is happening in the city in art and culture. He also helped me with grocery and meals whenever he was around.
I wish him lot of luck and progress. I would definitely return to his flat whenever I am in UK.
