The space
This space was once a working corner store, built in 1902, and it still carries that openness and light. Tall storefront windows, pressed-tin ceilings, and an easy flow make it a great place to spend time together — whether you’re cooking, hosting friends, or lingering around the table.

The kitchen features hand-poured concrete countertops (made by me), sharp knives, and everything you need for. making great meals. There are funky and thoughtful details throughout the place — planter pendant lights, shelves of good books, and comfy furniture.

One of the favorite surprises is the Murphy bed, tucked neatly into the library wall. It disappears completely during the day, making the living space feel open and flexible, and pulls down easily when you need it.

Through the back door, the space opens directly into a large, private backyard — rare for the neighborhood. There’s a deck, a wood-burning sauna, and a firepit that makes evenings outside especially inviting, even in colder months.

Guests comment on how unique the space feels — open, warm, and easy to settle into — with room to host, relax, and actually live for a bit.

Highlights:
- Historic storefront layout with tall windows and great light
- Handmade concrete kitchen countertops
- Hidden Murphy bed for flexible sleeping space
- Tons of books, art, and comfortable gathering areas
- Large private yard with deck, sauna, and firepit
- Fast Wi-Fi, smart TV, and a fully equipped kitchen

Perfect for:
- Couples, friends, or small groups who enjoy gathering in a shared space
- Guests who appreciate thoughtful design and handmade details
- Winter visitors who’ll use the sauna and firepit
- Travelers looking for something genuinely unique in a walkable neighborhood

Not the best fit for:
- Large groups needing lots of separate rooms
- Guests looking for ultra-minimal, hotel-style interiors
- People expecting a standard apartment layout — this is a former storefront, and that openness is part of the appeal
