Franz's home is super clean and comfortable and you get a good size room and your own separate bathroom to use. His house is located fairly close to Mission Bay and Garnet Avenue and quite a bit of a walk to Pacific Beach but if you like walking then this won't be a problem as it's very pleasant to walk around there anyway! Franz was away when I stayed over but I could still contact him and he's lovely and made me feel very welcome. I'd definitely want to stay there again! :)
Great place, great host and San Diego is worth to visit. The room and the own bathroom is very clean.
Franz's home was quiet, clean, and the room/bathroom were comfortable and everything I needed for three nights. Most of the time I was alone in the house, but did have a chance to meet Franz and have a brief conversation. Just a few blocks to many amenities. Would return if housing again needed in the area.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was great. Very clean and beautiful home. Everyone was easy going and non-intrusive. We had access to all of the things we needed, including wireless, bikes, and linen accommodations. The location was great, we could walk, bike, or drive to the beach and local food stops. It was a perfect place for our getaway.
I have never ever been so sad to leave a place! Franz and his roomy are awesome. But it´s getting better! The house is the perfect place to chill and enjoy your time besides the beachlife! Franz did everything to make our stay perfect! The access to the house is super easy, wifi works amazing and the house has everything you need. Like I said a thousand times before, thank you Franz! :)
This was my first airbnb stay and, unlike most virginal experiences, it was familiar, comfortable and left me with an overwhelming feeling of contentment.
Franz is a very attentive host, will address your queries quickly and as best he can (even if he is travelling), and is a warm and interesting individual . I found his effervescent housemate Yayoi also very willing to help out and, if you're lucky, she might even take you around the corner to Rocky's for one of the best burgers in San Diego.
There are a couple of bikes out the back which, while not equipped for the Tour of California, should get you around Pacific Beach well enough. A car would be handy here but the beach-flavoured bohemia of Garnet Avenue is only a 10 minute walk, and you can engage in your choice of yoga, crossfit, body art, hemp products, sushi or craft beer. People do stuff in PB- it's refreshing.
All the basics are as advertised - internet is reliable, the washer washes, the dryer dries and the place is kept clean. It's an ageing home, so it has a few quirks, but I'll take that over sterile and predictable apartment living any day.
The residence and the residents are each good value. You should stay here.
We had a great time at this place, it's close to the beach, bus stops and restaurants. The bathroom was immaculate, which we really appreciated; the room is simple but clean. The house is cold, we used the extra blankets and layered up at night. Franz and his roommate were very nice and answered all our questions. We would stay here again if we go back to San Diego.
Definitely recommend staying with Franz. Everything was as described and Franz was friendly and very quick to respond to my messages. I messaged him on the way to San Diego and had a place to stay before I got there. Having a couple bikes to borrow was a big plus.
Franz's quaint house is located within 5minutes walking distance to a host of delicious eateries and boutiques. Its also a mere 10-15minute walk to the pacific beach and breath taking views. I enjoyed my short stay in a comfortable house in a safe and cute neighborhood. Franz is very welcoming host and quick to respond to all inquiries, the house mates were also lovely people and I very much enjoyed chatting with them. I felt confident that I made a good choice in deciding to stay here. Thank you!
Well located near Pacific Beach but we still had to take the car. The room is very simple (as we see on the picture) and we had our own bathroom. It was a short but nice first airbnb experience!
