Greetings from The Riverside!!!
Someone said it's the journey that's important and not the destination. The world is a beautiful place and I appreciate the fact that you are an avid traveler.
Since you are on this page , I am sure you are considering travel to the beautiful city of Udupi and some scenic places around. It's an excellent choice and I happy that you are considering my town among the options available. We would like to be a part of journey through The Riverside.

The space
Frankly speaking; there is no place in Udupi like The Riverside.
Everyone out there offer a house ; what we offer is a home and an experience unlike any other out there . The home is just a part of your stay as there are so many things you can do and explore .

The Riverside is conveniently located just 20 minutes away by road from Udupi and is adjacent to the national highway . We offer an escape place which is away from the hustle and bustle of city life and yes we offer a serine and tranquil surrounding which might help to rejuvenate / recoup onself to take on the next battle out there .

The Riverside home consists of a large living room ; a fully furnished and equipped kitchen; a bedroom with a queen sized bed .

We offer a place surrounded by acres of coconut grove ; a breathtaking panoramic view of the river Suvarna and some really scenic places to explore near by (by Boat) . If you donot wish to travel, then just sit back and cuddle up at the property and unwind in the majestic surrounding.

Kindly note our minimum stay is 2 nights as the place demands it to assimilate on the experience.

The space is suitable for dreamers (to reflect; reset and recreate); couples on a romantic getaway ; young travelers ; the thinkers ; the liberals ; the corporate traveler looking for a break and of course the genuine movie buffs; as we offer a private secluded sanctuary; which is far but yet not too far ; a movie collection to die for and much much more.

It's a no frills home which we had built as a weekend retreat ; however we are sharing it with like minded people who are on a quest to explore places beyond the horizons of 2 BHK pigeon holes that we live in.

Art; we are patrons of art and have invested in caricature art in lines with Mario-De-Miranda around the property ; so if interested come and explore…

Guest access
There are many wonderful places which you can explore near to The Riverside; namely the island opposite; hanging bridge; a lovely scenic boat ride to the beach passing some really beautiful islands on the way.

If you are into fishing; you can definitely consider it but do bring your gear

What my guest can get access to is the entire property; an DVD collection of over 300 movies ; All modern amenities like furnished kitchen; cable TV ; basic provisions for cooking; Queen sized bed; Hot water to name a few

We have not installed an AC & laundry facility is not available

Other things to note
The kitchen is fully furnished and equipped with all groceries ( chargeable) , but cooking would be your prerogative
Guests are requested not to venture into the waters if you are not a certified swimmer as the water current varies depending on the tide

Neighborhood highlights

The best part about The Riverside is that its a private estate; thereby there are few to none neighbors around and you can have the place to oneself

I would recommend anyone who stays here to take a boat ride to the Hanging bridge and the beach ( Bengre beach) beyond; the overall ride is scenic and worth it

Toddy on the way ; At hanging bridge you should have the local drink toddy ; there's a small shop which sells the same at the Hanging bridge exit

Bengre beach ; My son calls it alone beach and if you are looking for a secluded / virgin beach then this might be the answer ; there is Shaka surf club over there if you are into surfing and also a small shak a little away from the surf club which cooks and serves local fish delicacies and of course Toddy...

There are many more place which I leave it to the traveler in you to explore.

Hello !!! My name is Aldo Lewis The story goes like this... The Riverside has been an ancestral property and has been with us since generations; I grew up in these pristine surroundings and over the years have spend a lot of time here, star gazing and marvel at the picture postcard beauty. As time flew by, And I embarked on my career and started to climb the corporate ladder / moved on to a different city in search of greener pasture. Life has been kind to me and have been able to achieve significant milestones. In retrospect, We built a cottage in this place as a weekend retreat to spend some time whenever we are in town. One of my other motives is to put this place on the Map . We have the landscape of Kerala backwaters and a culture on similar lines to Goa; thereby you can call it an amalgamation of both as this place is exactly in between kerala and Goa; So let's see... Time will tell how far I will reach. Writing about myself , I am an avid traveler and have crisscrossed the Globe ; thereby I do understand the needs of a Traveler ; influence of this can be found in the decor and outlook of this home. Overall We have built this place with an objective to unwind oneself and get ready for the next battle which lies out there. For anybody out there who is looking for the extraordinary and who chooses my place ; please come with an open mind to absorb what we have to offer . Airbnb to me as a concept is not a hotel room provider; it's more about home sharing; thereby as a guest , you got to be ready to accept what the host has to offer and adhere to some basic house rules and a way of life . Please note ; if you have chosen this place ; It too has chosen you; we do spend a lot of time on selecting the right guest who fits into our kind of outlook ; considering what we offer , we could have priced it in the Rs.5000/- to Rs.8000/- bracket; but we haven't done it by choice ; somewhere deep down I also believe that capitalism has failed us and the concept of sharing has withered down. Please do-not choose this place if you are coming for one night; you will regret it and our booking settings would not allow it ; please come with at least a 3 day outlook and with an objective of unwinding oneself This might sound a little narcissist and boastful, but that's the way it is . We are confident on what we are offering and not in it for only the money ; but hoping to spread some joy and happiness. As the founding fathers of America said in the Declaration of Independence; we all are in Pursuit of Happiness.
