Guests highlight the thoughtful details

Guests describe the cottage as peaceful, charming, and thoughtfully equipped
A stylish off-grid cottage in the middle of nature, yet a quick walk into the lovely Maine village of Waldoboro. More pics to come as I wrap up the construction!

Open floor layout (12 x 18) with spacious ceiling height, with a 13' front wall with large old windows looking out to a private wooded view. Back wall is 8' high. A separate cute building has the outhouse and hot water shower (pics to come). Listing says 2 guests max...but know that the bed is a sofabed sized as a double/full.

The space
This is an off-grid one-room living space, on the edge of my 3 acre wooded and pasture lot, about 250' across a pasture from your parking area and my house.

This is a peaceful retreat from busy and more 'normal' living spaces, with no electricity. It has a two burner propane cooktop, a propane powered cube fridge with a small freezer, a kitchen sink with hot/cold water (water is gravity fed from a water collection tank). There is also a propane powered fireplace to stay cozy on cool days.

A comfortable IKEA sofa bed allows a good night's rest (a double/full size when not a sofa) and a quick change to more spatial living area when not sleeping (sofa bed has a storage compartment that easily and quickly fits the bedding and pillows, which are all provided). Antique dropleaf table allows for adjustable size eating/writing/desk/entertaining options. Four chairs (two permanent, two folding for potential guests). A small dresser, cookware, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, utensils, etc. French Press and coffee, a kettle, tea, also included. Basic cooking condiments also provided (olive oil, salt, pepper). Stylish LED lights that recharge with a USB chargeable solar battery (also for charging your phone and tablets). Also no-order oil lamps. Door has a bluetooth enabled/keypad lock.

(Note that the landscaping is still being improved after the construction...a few pieces of trim on the bath house still needs to be added...please watch your step walking around the ground around the cottage as we continue building cleanup.)

The outhouse/shower is in another small building next to the cottage, with hot/cold water for shower, and a composting toilet in an adjacent outhouse to the shower. A table with a wash basin in in the shower room. All linens, including towels and washcloths provided.

Guest access
The whole cottage and outhouse/shower are private to you.

Other things to note
This is an off-grid cottage and are for those looking for a unique adventure and a simpler way to live, yet this means some compromises:

- no wifi, but there is cell coverage. Wifi can be found a the lovely local cafe Perch, and at the Library, all right in the village.

-there is NO electricity, but there are usb rechargeable lamps and oil lamps. A usb battery charger is available in the cottage to recharge phones and lamps.

- bathroom is not in the cottage but in another outdoor building next to the cottage, and it is a composting toilet/rustic outhouse, doesn't flush.

- water pressure may be less than a normal house, but there is hot and cold water for the shower, but not the kitchen sink. Kitchen sink water is not drinkable, but there is drinkable water provided in a dispenser in the kitchen.
