We had a wonderful time and couldn't have asked for a better Airbnb experience! Victoria, our immediate host, was fantastic! She asked us for preferences for breakfast and was most accommodating in all respects. The cottage is clean, has a great walk-in closet, is nicely decorated and comfortable. The central location of the cottage, in relation to downtown, the airport and the freeways is excellent. What we didn't realize was that the cottage is located in a great little neighborhood of San Jose, Willow Glen, which features some terrific restaurants and shops. These are all within a short walk of the cottage and made for fun exploring and gastronomic experiences. Street parking can be a little tight at times, but this was only a minor inconvenience in what was otherwise a thoroughly delightful Airbnb experience!
This cottage I loved from the first time I saw the pictures. Everything looked so clean, beautiful and cozy. The price was the best and the feedbacks were great. Because all of this, me and my husband decided to stay there! And what a great decision! We couldn't have chosen better!
Amanda and Victoria were always sooo nice! Always concerned if everything was ok and helping every time we needed.
And the cottage was really very clean, beautiful and cozy. It was perfect staying there for 30 days.
We highly recommend the cottage and Amanda. If we visit Silicon Valley again, certainly we'll stay there!
So far, my best experience on AirBnB. Amanda's cottage and the grounds were impeccable. The cottage was very comfortable and just the right size for a four day stay. Great walking neighborhood with restaurants, coffee shops and shopping within easy walking distance and very convenient to get to and from the San Jose convention center. You can't go wrong staying here.
I had a great stay here. The place was very clean and neat. They even helped me store some of my sporting gear upon my arrival. This was the perfect place to stay during my relocation to San Jose. You can walk down to Lincoln Street in Willow Glen where there are tons of shops and restaurants. Amanda and Victoria were super nice and attentive when I contacted them. Other than that, they let me enjoy the place on my own, which I greatly appreciated.
I also really liked that the place had a private little yard!
I had a very comfortable stay at Amanda's zen cottage. It was modern, clean and spacious with many little touches like a tray of brownies, fresh fruit, a yoga mat, etc, that made my stay that much more comfortable. Her cottage is very well located, just a short walk from the cafes and restaurants of Willow Glen.
Amanda was very proactive and easy to communicate with. She made planning for my arrival easy and predictable. I also really enjoyed meeting her thoughtful local host Victoria. I look forward to staying here again. Highly recommended!
I had a great one-week stay while in San Jose for work. The cottage was clean and nicely-appointed and Amanda kindly left a variety of food and beverages for me. The location was nice a well, just a short walk to the downtown area with lots of restaurants. I would definitely stay at the cottage again!
We were the first guests at Amanda’s new guesthouse in Willow Glen. My husband drove across the country in his car, so he got there 1 day before me. I am quite detail oriented and we had a noise issue at the last place we stayed at thru Airbnb, so I went thru the list of amenities and asked questions. I noticed that kitchen was checked off as an amenity, but Amanda clearly noted that it is not a full kitchen and there is no sink, so I found that helpful. Laundry facility was not on the amenities, so I asked about other options and was told about a wash and fold place very close by. I also told Amanda that my husband was driving, so the ETA was a little difficult to predict. She got me in touch with Victoria and Victoria was quite flexible and told me that she will stay up until my husband got there (I knew he was arriving at night, but didn’t know how late and I was also told that there is no lock box option, so Victoria has to show you in). My husband and I thought that Victoria was accommodating and he appreciated the extra snacks she had left in the room for us, so we brought her an orchid plant and some fresh strawberries from a farm in Monterrey and we thought we were on a good start. We also pointed out a couple of things to her about the guesthouse (since we were the first guests) that we thought needed to be addressed, and she had a handyman over the next day. One of the problems is not a true “fix” though. There is only a 20 gallon hot water tank. Neither my husband nor I were able to take a full comfortable shower without having to switch off the water during the shower. 2 people showering consecutively is really not an option… Anyways, so my whole point in this first paragraph was to point out the fact that we felt comfortable with all of the descriptions/amenities and we felt that we knew what we were getting into. We stayed at the guesthouse for 2 weeks. The purpose of this trip was for us to find a rental house for our relocation, and for me to attend several meetings in my San Jose and San Francisco offices. This was already a very busy, stressful trip for us without adding any mishaps relating to our stay… Monday night, we get back after mid-night, after spending the day in meetings in San Francisco. There is no parking… Amanda’s ad had parking as one of the amenities (it no longer says so because I told her that that is very misleading, given their true parking situation). Basically, it turns out to be “first come first serve” street parking in a very busy neighborhood. Because we had no other choice (husband did not feel comfortable parking his BMW on the side of a...
We appreciate that Kaeko pointed out how we went out of our way to provide a very late check-in for her husband. We want to ensure all of our guests arrive safely. We are happy that quests appreciate how quickly we address their wishes or concerns within 24 hrs as we believe in providing a VIP experience to all of our guests. While we want guests to feel at home, there are some limitations on things like the water heater as this is a guest house and not a large home. After the first repair, Kaeko never complained about the water heater, nor has any other guest, but we're looking into the water heater settings based on this feedback and are very open to getting it serviced as needed. Our other guests (including 20+ Airbnb guests staying at the cottage next door) have not had any problems with the parking situation. The neighborhood is safe and quiet and most guests arrive prior to mid-night. We had not understood that Kaeko needed to park directly in front of the house. Even late at night, there are plenty of spots within 200ft of the cottage. I am an experienced host, and we bend over backwards for our guests, but based on Kaeko’s special requirements, we feel that they may be better served at a traditional hotel environment.
