Feel comfortable with your own private space, not a room in someone else's home! Wonderful for students, resident doctors or anyone looking to stay in one of Buffalo's most lively areas!
Enjoy staying in a private room in Buffalo's lively and historic Elmwood Village! We are located within walking distance of a wide variety of restaurants and coffee shops. Buffalo has a great reputation for its art and architecture community, so while you're here take a look at the Albright Knox or Burchfield Penny Gallery and take one of Buffalo's many architectural tours.
Niagara Falls (30 minutes away) and Toronto ( about an hour away) also make great excursions during your stay in Buffalo.
Elmwood village contains hundreds of locally owned shops and boutiques. If these don't suit your style, we are located just 15 minutes away from the area's largest shopping center, Walden Galleria Mall.
The historic rooming house contains many private rooms occupied primarily by individual, long term tenants. The rooms share multiple bathrooms and a large kitchen space. You are welcome to use the kitchen, but please be neat! Secure lockers in the kitchen are available for the storage of dry foods. The kitchen contains two large, shared refrigerators where you are able to keep perishables. Because the bathroom is shared, we ask that you are courteous, keep it clean and leave personal items in your room. Coin operated washer and dryer in the basement are available for guest use.
Common areas and hallways are professionally cleaned on a regular basis. First floor lounge contains a tv with cable, vhs & dvd players. The lounge is available for private gathering if reserved with enough notice.
There is plenty of alternate street parking is available. If you come without a vehicle, there are bus stops within walking distance!
We are located near many of the area's colleges, including Buffalo State, University of Buffalo, D'Youville & Canisius! And hospitals, particularly, Women & Children's, Buffalo General, Roswell and Sister's.
I want to do my best to make your stay in Buffalo great and are ready to provide any suggestions or advice to help you enjoy your stay! I do not live on site, but live nearby and am a phone call away if you have any questions or concerns! I also have attentive building managers for additional help on site.
I work during the day, so a check in after six pm is ideal, but can make arrangements for an earlier check if needed!
Emily was a an impeccable host and will definitely recommend this place to friends and colleagues in the future! The house is located perfectly near all the nice cafes and bars in Elmwood Village. And the sort of classic European interior of the house is quite nice. I really appreciated Emily's commitment into making my arrival and stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible and she was always very helpful.
Although the house/room was clean, and the bathroom appeared to have recently been renovated it must be clear this is currently a boarding house with primarily all long term residents. The owner, I don't believe it is Emily is one of them, is off site. However, the owner who came to let me in and assign me a key was pleasant. Emily, although we never actually met, was also nice to communicate with and was very timely and professional. There is a common, kitchen, shared bathrooms, and a common TV room. WiFi is extremely limited to just the TV room. Bottom line I personally use Air BnB for the home like experience and this was clearly a boarding house. Reading the description that certainly isn't made clear, you could have gotten a comparable budget hotel for the same price and quality.
Anthony, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. I hope you would have let me know if there was anything I could have done while you were in Buffalo. The listing does state "historic rooming house" but I will try to make it a little more obvious. There are a lot of hospitals and colleges in the area and I think it would be ideal for someone studying a lot and needing privacy.
