Matt & Jean's charming place was an excellent choice for exploring Washington DC. It was super clean, comfortable, and within a block from the Union Station Metro which gives you access to the city without needing a car. When checking in I found that my gracious hosts had stocked the apartment with abundant breakfast foods, chocolates, and a nice bottle of wine. What a great welcome! I also loved the Wi-Fi, the Cable TV, and the convenient front door combination entry lock that lets you travel without worrying about losing a key. Many restaurants are very close by and there is a neat deli/store and a coffee shop just across the street.
Matt and Jean are wonderful hosts and definitely deserving of their superhost status! The apartment was lovely, and every detail made you feel like you were staying in a luxury spa. Thank you! We look forward to rebooking whenever we are in DC.
Matt and Jean did an exceptional job of making me feel welcome. The suite was sparkling clean, and they had even laid out goodies and a bottle of wine plus breakfast items. It is a lovely apartment with everything I needed. I didn't have to contact my hosts for anything, but they checked in on me to make sure there was nothing I needed. I was there to visit family and did not do sightseeing, but the suite is very convenient to Union Station where you can catch the Metro and tour buses and shop or dine. There are also many restaurants and groceries within walking distance. It's a great place to stay!
OMG!!!!! This place is amazing!!!
Matt and Jean literally thought of everything.. I felt like I was home I spent one day and just stayed inside and enjoyed my vacation. This was my first time to DC and I would stay here again in the near future! Anyone ever traveling to DC I recommend they stay here because it is so close to everything.... walking distance from the Union Station and the Capital Building! I got everywhere with out having to rent a car and Uber was really cheap too if I need a cab to anything.
This was our first airbnb experience and it couldn't have been better. From our first message to Matt and Jean to our checkout everything went smoothly. Every question or request was responded to pleasantly and usually within minutes.
The accommodations were perfect for us. The unit is quite spacious and everything has been upgraded. In addition to a helpful list of tips about the unit and the neighborhood, Matt and Jean left a bunch of welcoming treats for us.
The location couldn't have been better. The Union Station metro station is only about a block away so the entire D.C. area is easily reachable, but places like the Capitol building are an easy walk. The neighborhood feels safe and at least during our week there was quiet.
All in all I would rate the accommodations, and the hosts, as extraordinary.
Matt and Jean definitely go with extra mile to make their guests feel special! There was breakfast food, milk, OJ, tea/coffee stocked in the kitchen which I was a fantastic surprise! I didn't hear any noise from the outside, and I also loved they there was a private entrance to come and go as you please. The room was clean, stylish, and exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Matt and Jean for a great stay!
From the minute we stepped in the front door, we knew that we had found a great place to stay. The place was clean, spacious, tastefully decorated, conveniently located and well-stocked with supplies to keep us comfortable. Here's what we loved specifically:
- easy key exchange. Jean sent us a code for the front door so we didn't need to make arrangements to meet up;
- close to Union Station. It was only a 500metre walk (or thereabouts)
- Jean had stocked the apartment with breakfast items, wine, snacks, maps, soaps, ...everything we needed;
- The bed was super comfortable, shower was good, TV had all the channels;
- there was a noise machine left for us to use but we found that it wasn't necessary as the street was not overly busy.
Both Jean and Matt were welcoming and friendly people and their little place in Capitol Hill was one of the many reasons we have fallen in love with Washington DC.
We hope we can come back one day and we would definitely recommend this little gem to others.

About the Host, Matt And Jean
We love big adventures and unique experiences (we climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro for our honeymoon!) which is why we appreciate how great it is to have a private and luxurious place to call home to when you're exploring a new city! We often travel with groups of friends or extended family, and know that it is hard to find a place that fits everyone. We started renting our Capitol Hill rowhouse which fits large groups because we thought other families and groups may enjoy being able to spend time together exploring cities - it's kind of like when you rent a big house at the beach, only you are in the heart of the city! We also rent our english basement unit near Union Station!
We’ve been AirBnB hosts for more than 6 years and have loved making sure our guests have the best vacation experience ever! We have tons of information on great things to see, do, and places to eat! From the Cherry Blossoms, to Mt. Vernon, to the Marine Corps Marathon, we've done it all! We really want to make sure you have a great stay with us and in DC, so let us know if there's something special that we can do to make sure everything is perfect!
