A renovated stone house located in central Bodrum. Great location, just 2 minutes walk to resort shops, restaurants, bars and beach. While very centrally located it is in a quiet area of town.
This house has a living room and 1 double bedroom with A/C. The 2 sofas are suitable for extra beds and are comfortable. It is possible for 4 people to stay but it is recommended for either 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.
The fully fitted kitchen has everything including a full cooker with 4 gas rings, electric oven and washing machine. Separate bathroom and toilet. There is a small courtyard with an outdoor eating area. There is also a TV with limited English and other foreign language channels. Internet and Wi-fi are available in the house.
Also provided are an iron, hairdryer and beach towels (on request).
This is a great base for a relaxing holiday with 2 local beaches (nearest beach is just 50m away and has been awarded a Blue Flag) and also boat trips nearly on your door step. The local bus station is approx. 15 minutes walk away or alternatively taxis are available at the top and the bottom of the street.
Local sights to see in Bodrum Town Centre are the Mausoleum (one of the 7 wonders of the world), Bodrums famous Castle of St. Peter with museums and also the renovated amphitheatre, which is the summer hot spot for concerts and dance shows.
As I have been a resident in Bodrum for the past 25 years I can advise you of what will be on during your stay and also things to do in and out of Bodrum. The guide book is available on here for all guests to print off before their trip.
New for 2014 - there will be internet and Wi-fi connection in the house.
Delightful place and most helpful host, plus her husband. Great location and parking not an issue. Would strongly recommend.
Great location. Charming house. Thoughtful host.
We really had a great time staying at the stone house in Bodrum! We felt home immediatly. We enjoyed to stay in a nice, local neigbourhood, just 1 min to the sea.If you need Internet, you caan use the wi-fi infront of Karen`s house, just a few houses down the road. We joined a boat tour with Karen`s husband and recommend it, especially if you come off season. From Bodrum you can easily take a bus to other other places like Bitez (nice beach). Come to the unique Bodrum stone house and enjoy!
If you are looking for a seriously relaxing place to stay in Bodrum then the Stone House is more than perfect. Upon arrival it immediately felt like a home away from home. We stayed there for a week and didn't want to leave. Though it's only 100 metres from the beach and restaurants it felt like we were hidden away from the touristy side of Bodrum. Karen is a fantastic host. She's lived in Bodrum for 20 odd years and knows everything there is to know about this wonderful part of the world. She's the perfect balance of laid back and professional. You won't find a better host.
Karen's house is in a great location in Bodrum. It's at the end of the marina, and a short walk to the center of Bodrum. Karen was very helpful with recommendations for food and drinks.
The house itself is very unique as it says in her title. The bathroom is attached to the main house, as is the shower and kitchen. You have to go outside of the main house to access these areas. It's all encompassed in a outdoor patio, and was not an issue, but it was an unusual setup and I wanted to share that with others on AirBNB.
There is a rood deck, although it didn't have any furniture. The air conditioning worked well (necessary as it gets hot in Bodrum) and the bed was comfortable.
The only downside was that there is no wireless at the house. Not a huge deal, but if you want to plan your trip during the stay, you may need to find alternate wireless options.
All in all, I'd recommend this place and location to my friends.
An absolute gem! This lovely home is exactly as described, and then more. The location is perfect, on the quieter side of the beach and literally a two minute walk to the water. Karen and her family were very accommodating, available, and made us feel very comfortable. Their own home is on the same street and we always felt like we had someone to go to if we needed it. Our only regret is that we wished we could have stayed longer.
Karen also leaves a little booklet with lots of helpful information in the house, a wonderful guide to help sift through all that Bodrum had to offer. We had memorable meals thanks to this thoughtful gesture.
The kitchen and bathroom are quite separate from the rest of the living space, and the space does require going up and down the steps a bit. It most definitely is worth it though--to enjoy the summer breeze on the roof, or to be able to dine in the charming open courtyard makes the space feel extra special.
Karen is a friendly and professional host. Correspondence prior to our arrival was prompt and comprehensive. The house was sparkling clean and cozy.
During our stay Karen kindly assisted us with arrangements for a local appointment.
Although the house was located right in the center of Bodrum's bustling daytime and nightlife, it was cool and quiet once you were inside. The sea is a very short walk from the front door.
The house has a nice roof terrace. The parasol and garden chairs have, however, seen their best days.
The only suggestion for improvement would be to have wifi access on the premises.
We would certainly use Karen's services again in the future.
Karen was very helpful, a great host she was. The only thing we had problem with was the low door which made us see the stars a couple of times. The location was great, just 50 meters from the action. And the building was very interesting as it was built around an open courtyard. Highly recommended.
Karen wasn't around when we stayed at the Stone House, but she set us up with all the necessary information, and her husband Suhat filled in admirably. He's also a great boat captain and we highly recommend one of his boat tours.
The house enjoys a fantastic location, just a few steps away from all the action on the Bodrum waterfront, but it manages nevertheless to maintain a quiet, old-fashioned neighborhood feel. Inside it's cool and cozy. Kitchen is well equipped and there's also a nice terrace at the top.
Two small caveats: the house needs some minor maintenance, which Karen is looking into now. Also, the traffic barrier at the top of the street is almost NEVER open, so be prepared to schlepp your luggage on foot for about 150 m.
We have a fabulous stay in this beautiful stone house. It is cosy, clean and homely and in a fantastic location. The water front is almost outside the door and it is very close to great restaurants. Karen left us loads of useful information and was great to communicate with in the lead up to our stay. I would recommend staying here and in Bodrum to anyone. Its a truly beautiful place.
