Bob is a great host - very hospitable, friendly, and helpful. No invasion of privacy yet readily 'on hand' if needed. The facilities ie room/bed/bathroom etc were all good too, with strong wifi in the room. And the location was absolutely spot on; easy walking distance to pretty much anywhere that you might like to go! All in all, a great stay!
Nice room. It's in the middle of the town so you are near everything.
The apartment has what's useful while staying.
The Wi-Fi has it's own life. Sometimes that's a good life, Sometimes not.
The host, Bob, is what's hosts are about. Friendly, helpful and can provide what's needed.
What's not to like?
I enjoyed my stay in Alicante. Bob was a very helpful and friendly host. His advice to go to a small Tapas-Bar paid out! It was delicious. The flat was clean and several towels have been prepared for me. I liked the balcony in my room. Only problem was the slow and sometimes not working WiFi. But, I can advice staying at his apartment. Thanks for hosting me!
Staying at Bob's place was just perfect. The place was as cosy and tidy as it looks on picture. The whole apartment has a great welcoming and peaceful energy. Bob is a wonderful host, very attentive and caring about his guests. Go to Alicante, have a break from your everyday life and stay at Bob's place - I can only highly recommend it!

I fell in 'love' with Alicante and last year decided to base myself here, it's a great place in our EU.
It's friendly people and the random acts of kindness I experienced whilst I tried to destroy their language is engaging. I like their simple foods, wines, it suited my palette........if you scratch my skin you will find a peasant underneath.
The town is small, only 300,000 but is connected to Europe via a very busy Airport; The Railway Station has high speed trains to Madrid and beyond and there is also a light railway that links the many towns along the coast. It has a working harbour, a marina, a beach, a castle and nowhere is more than 10 minutes walking from anywhere else.
The architecture is mixed and with the exception of 3 buildings it's all 'low rise' and therefore pleasing to the eye and has charm.
There is a harmony here, where older and young mix until early in the morning partying, I like this, it's inclusive, a sense of community. The people can be a little loud and noisy at times being right in the centre but they are just enjoying themselves without any inappropriate behaviour, I have never seen any trouble here at all, never, it is a very safe place to be walking about late in the night or in early in the morning.
The town is a tourist destination for Spanish people and they will not accept poor quality food wines or services so, it's a pleasure.
Underneath all this, is Spain, they have only had democracy for 26 years and within that time they have had 2 coup d'état attempts which failed some 20 years ago.
However, the legacy of Franco is found in most of it's institutions but it's 'work in progress' it will take 2 or 3 generation to work out the Franco mentality and the people to find their feet and realise that they can use democracy!
People who come from the Northern European democracies are lucky we've had democracy for 100's of years – I thought Nicolas Sarkozy was a good French president but the people of France said, NO and he was gone, in a blink of an eye!
Anyway, meanwhile back in Alicante, they have many and I mean many, festivals which are community based and mainly based around the Church but there are, truly a sight to behold – fantastic – and see!
Explore, Experience, Enjoy.
