Quoting wikitravel: "Get away from the busy streets and explore the area between Julu Rd (巨鹿路) to the north and Huaihai Rd (淮海路) running through the center, plus Maoming Rd (茂名南路) and surrounding area to the south of Huaihai Rd. Pleasant tree-lined streets and local Shanghainese bustle, combined with a growing number of trendy boutiques and restaurants. Changle Rd (长乐路) and Xinle Rd (新乐路) are rapidly becoming the places to find small designer clothing shops. Interesting architecture built with French and Belgian money and showing mixed Chinese-European styles."
Metro line 2 and line 7 (Jing'an Temple station) can be reached easily within a few walking minutes as well as airport bus #2.
Other Things to Note
Bathroom privacy warning: Please be aware that the bathroom has no door, as pictured.
Please also consider that you'll live amongst locals, our neighbours have pets (one dog, one cat and one bird). They love to play Mahjong and converse in Chinese, sometimes at considerable volume.
No pets, no smoking. That's about all worth mentioning, but since having 50 words or more in the house rules will improve the search ranking, I'll add some more: No guns, no drugs, no illegal activities and please don't steal anything! I hope that's enough words now.
The place was very nice and cosy, also only a few minutes walk to line 1 and 7 which makes going to major attractions very easy. Andi was very helpful in providing instructions and information and the place was very clean. Definitely highly recommended!!
The place is exactly as described and in the photos- if anything it feels bigger because of all the natural light. I had a lot of room for all of my stuff. Andi is also a perfect host- if I had any worries he always got back to me quickly and dealt with the issue. He's also good fun and gave me heaps of advice on Shanghai. I couldn't think of a better host.
Fumin lu is my favorite street in Shanghai with everything to offer - so the best location but also helpful and nice hosts.
Our stay at Andreas apartment was super-great! At a perfect location in the french area this cosy room was provided with all the comforts you need, such as wifi, coffee-mashine, water boiler, towels and such, just great :) We even got a metro-card! At departure we were well introduced to the surroundings and Andreas was available for questions at anytime during the week. We also got help with registration at the police station.
It's my first Airbnb experience and I am so lucky to stay in Andreas' apt. It has perfect location, very clean and comfortable bed and well equipped by Coffee Machine, refrigerator, washer, and DVD. Andreas is really a great host and it's impressed me by his hospitality and kindness. I want to stay here again in my next trip Thanks.
Andreas' flat was perfect! Great location in the heart of French Concession with good connection to public transport and loads of cool bars and cafés nearby. It's not huge and the bathroom lacks a door somewhat, but it's clean and cozy and really comfy and Andy just really takes care of his guests personally, maybe the biggest plus of this already great flat. There was beer in the fridge, a Nespresso machine ready and we went out two or three times and had a couple of memorable Shanghai nights with Andreas and his friends. Recommended!

About the Host, Andreas
I spend my time between Shanghai and Cologne. Previous guests have described me with lots of different positive adjectives and adverbs, sometimes even using caps lock ("SUPER helpful"). In my free time I'm on a quest to read the entire internet and visit the 120± countries I haven't been to yet.
