Glassworks Building — 815 W Market St, penthouse west-facing + partial riverview loft
Stay at one of the most unique and breathtaking places in Louisville. Open the door to this 840 square foot penthouse loft, with 14 foot ceilings, and in front of you is a 20 feet of windows overlooking West Louisville, Indiana's Floyds Knobs (a picturesque view of lush hills) and a partial view of the falls of the Ohio River. The windows are 20 feet in length and 7 1/2+ feet in height. Every day I wake up deliriously happy because the first thing I see in the morning is this view, and I stay that way all day for the same reason. I would love for you to experience this during your time in Louisville!
A string of adjectives for you that describe my space. . . Sun-drenched, Modern, Urban and Industrial Chic. The open floor plan allows you to enjoy time together with your friends, and the distinct spaces created using groupings of furniture allow you to have more intimate gatherings when you choose. The exposed concrete floors give you a raw, industrial feel while the carefully chosen decor warms up the space for a truly comfortable stay in an edgy space.
The space is 1 of 2 penthouse west-facing + partial riverview lofts in the historic Glassworks Building in downtown Louisville. Glassworks is a multi-use facility dedicated to the art of glass featuring 2 working glass studios, 2 glass galleries, a walk-in workshop and daily tours. That gives you a lot to do before you even step outside the building.
Plus, enjoy the convenience of private underground secure parking with a key card access elevator (as available on a first-come, first-served basis). Should you need anything during your stay, there is 24-hour security at the lobby front desk.
**** I have other comparably decorated and furnished lofts available in the same building on this floor + the floor below to accommodate up to 28+ more people. (Check out "My Other Listings" in the right-hand side bar of this listing under my profile picture for details on this space or contact me for the link to the other listings.) Have a large group? We've got you covered with 3 stunning spaces in the same building! ****
Staying here, you are in the Glassworks District, adjacent to Museum Row and blocks away from Whiskey Row. Without leaving a 2-block radius you can:
— Take the elevator down to Jazzyblu for a cocktail and a spot of live music or, if it's the weekend, chill in their cozy lounge, Blu, with dance music;
— Watch glass blowing artisans working it on the ground level;
— Walk to the world-renowned 21C Museum Hotel which houses restaurant Proof on Main and the 21C contemporary art museum;
— Stroll just a fraction further to St Charles Exchange restaurant and choose a libation from their lengthy cocktail list that showcases turn of the century mixed drinks in a casually elegant space reminiscent of a 1900's hotel lobby bar;
— Meander down Museum Row which includes Frazier History Museum, Glassworks, Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, Kentucky Science Center, Kentucky Museum of Art + Craft, 21c Museum Hotel, The Muhammad Ali Center and The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts;
— or Jog to the Louisville Riverwalk for your morning run in Waterfront Park.
There is more, but I couldn't risk losing your interest by making this section even longer!
Venture a little further east (1.3 miles) on Market on the free downtown TARC trolley and you will find a plethora of amazing and unique restaurants. Louisville is a foodie town and this section, NuLu, is at the heart of the up-and-coming restaurant scene. Also, enjoy antique shops, art galleries and specialty stores.
Still with me? Let's go a little further down the road to The Highlands (about 3 miles to the southeast). Sometimes referred to as "Restaurant Row," the Highlands in Louisville is best known for its eclectic local shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. In fact, the three mile stretch of Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue that intersects the Highlands has the highest density of bars and restaurants in Louisville.
I could keep going, but you are only staying for a couple of days, right?

When there are 3 or less beds in the loft, there are is room for 1 hang out space. In said space, I have a large modular, white leather, sectional sofa that can be set up as an U-shaped couch or as, what I believe is technically called, a lounge pit with the extra ottomans filling the center. It's a great spot to chill and watch a movie or two or even get some work done on your laptop. Speaking of getting work done, you will have high-speed, password-protected WiFi coursing through your computer. But what will you listen to whilst you are trapped in the lounge pit? How about my iPhone/Andriod/MP3 player speakers. Yeah, I think that should about do it. Oh wait, there is an HDTV across from said lounging area. Yep, that's to entertain you, the lounge-y one lounging in the lounge pit.
No smoking, no pets (I would get kicked out of my place and I know you don't want that.)

An excellent first-time AirBnB experience! Sarah was a great host. Our group of 10 had everything we needed for our trip, everyone felt comfortable and right at home. The loft units were really spacious and unique, I will definitely be contacting Sarah on my next visit to Louisville, we had a great time!
Best experience I've had with through airbnb yet! The loft was great and Sarah was very professional, extremely hospitable, and pleasant. Definitely my new go to for Louisville.
Simply put this airbnb exceeded all of my expectations. Stay here again in a heartbeat.
This loft/apartment is as great as it appears. Superb location for checking out Louisville, touring the Bourbon Trail, or seeing the ponies. The open loft space was perfect for three guys on a weekend visit for distillery tours, and Sarah was a great hostess, ensuring we had breakfast, parking and anything else we needed. Three queen beds fit just fine in the space. And Sarah deserves a special shout-out for going the extra mile and shipping some stuff home for us after we left. Highly recommended.
Beautiful view, especially in the evening as the sun goes down. Very handy location, especially if you are attending an event downtown. Very clean and well kept. The staff was extremely responsive to all my requests. Had a great time, wish I could have stayed longer.
My wife and I had a fantastic experience staying at Sarah's loft. The location was perfect. We were able to walk lots of great restaurants and bars. We found the loft exactly as pictured: beautiful, modern and comfortable.
Sarah and her team were excellent hosts. We would certainly stay here again.
My husband and I were looking for a quick getaway weekend and we were so happy to find a condo all to ourselves (bnb or hotel were our second choice). We found this loft to be ideal in every way: Sarah was attentive and responsive. She made sure we had all the information ahead of time, checked in with us during our stay, and was clear on directions for wifi, getting into the building, etc. The loft was in a great location too. We had plenty of sites and restaurants within walking distance, not to mention easy access to the highway. The space itself had a great view, good amenities and was spotless. I highly recommend this place.
Had a great time! My girl was literally speech less!! Felt like we walked into a movie!!
Sarah's place is lovely. Spotlessly clean, stylish, and with all sorts of thoughtful touches; great coffee, toiletries stocked in the bathroom, even cotton balls.
Sarah had contacted me in advance of my arrival, and the loft was stocked with some basic groceries upon my arrival.
The location is terrific, right near some amazing restaurants, the museum area, and walking distance to everything.
I would definitely stay with Sarah again, when I return to Louisville!
My husband and I had a terrific visit to Louisville. A first time visit for us both, we started on a high note with Sarah's incredible flat with a view of Louisville, the Ohio River, and the Kentucky Hills that was amazing at all times of day and all weathers. Sarah was an experienced and delightful host and attended to every detail that would make our stay more comfortable and more pleasant. Louisville restaurants are incredible, and in two days we sampled Cake Flour, Taco Punk, and Mayan Cafe in NULU, BLU Italian Grill for a wonderful Xmas buffet (the ravioli was *****), and had Xmas Eve dinner and a breakfast at Proof on Main. We'd return to all of them again! And we'll be back looking out the windows of Sarah's flat as soon as we can manage it!
