We had a great time in Austin, in large part to great location for this place! Easy communication with Sovay and fully loaded bungalow make for an easy vacation!
I loved staying at the Itz Bitz Bungalow. It was a perfect location for me, since most of what I wanted to do was in the Soco area! I had everything I needed at the Bungalow, the bathroom was fully stocked with toiletries, and the beer and coffee in the kitchen was much appreciated :) Even though it's on a main commercial street, I found it to be super quiet. Bed was comfy, everything was clean, and it was a cozy place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. I'd recommend a car if you have it, but there are tons of bars and restaurants within a 10-20 minute walk. I used bCycle to get around (Austin's bikeshare program) and would walk to the nearest station about 10 minutes away. Great way to see the city!
We had a wonderful time and so appreciate how Sovay thought of everything and made the bungalow so cozy. I am a creative director and her sense of style is appreciated! I come to Austin several times a year and will definitely try to book the bungalow well in advance so we can enjoy it again.
We just returned from our road trip to Austin and our stay at SOCO ItZ bitZ. We loved it! The place was cute, comfortable, and perfectly located for everything we wanted to do. Sovay's recommendations were super helpful as well and the the bungalow provided everything we needed. Thanks for everything :)
Check in and check out was really simple. The place is located behind her salon, but she gives you full autonomy. She stopped by to say hi and let us know to call her if we needed anything, but left us to our own devices otherwise.
It's in a great location. We could easily walk to great places to eat. It's easy to get to downtown, parks, and the residential areas to the south.
The space is as described. There's a small kitchen with everything you could want and basic cooking needs, a large TV, comfy couch and bed, plenty of closet space, wifi, and a bathroom. It's pretty perfect for 1-2 people for a few days.
If I had to pick one thing that I didn't like, it was that the floors were a bit dingy. Our socks were black from walking around on the wood floor and that tracked onto the white floors in the kitchen, and especially the bathroom where it got wet from time to time. A quick cleaning would fix that though.
Hi, Jay! You were the perfect guest and we would love to host you again! Santi (housekeeper) does mop after every guest, however, you did have your dog with you...and, as a dog owner myself, they can add to the dirt on floors with their paws. That said, we love our dogs so it's worth the dirt they bring in sometimes :)
