This is a cute, well appointed monthly rental in an incredible area of Austin, Texas ~ 78704!

The space

The SoCo Itz BitZ Bungalow is a monthly rental. This adorable 650 square foot bungalow sits behind my hair salon on South 1st Street in the very popular and trendy SOCO and SOFI area of (URL HIDDEN) the most desirable/hip zip code, 78704! It has been lovingly remodeled and prepared to host even the most finicky guest to the casual guest with close proximity to downtown Austin less than a 1.5 mile walk away! Nestled between Zilker Park/Barton Springs Pool, South Lamar, and South Congress, you'll find yourself in the middle of all the local attractions. In addition, there is a park (Gillis Park) located directly across the street for those of you with children, animals, and/or enjoy a walk nearby. South 1st and South Congress street are famous for their selection of incredible vintage stores so don't forgot to visit some of the best infamous and local South Austin shops like Flashback, Schatzelein, Turntable Records, Resistencia Bookstore, etc ...just a couple of blocks down from the Bungalow! There are countless cute, local bakeries and coffee shops within blocks, as well.

The bungalow details:
Enjoy this private bungalow with an open concept (efficiency) with a 42 inch flat screen TV including cable, WiFi internet, Sealy Posturepedic Sotherby PLUSH queen sized mattress, comforter with 100 percent cotton duvet cover (comfy and soft and not polyester!), Egyptian cotton sheets/pillows, and a knotty pine queen sleigh bed from the exquisite Wildflower Organics (one of my favorite stores on Lamar/9th). There is a comfy white cotton slip cover sofa for seating. Walk in closet provides plenty of room to hang clothes, and many shelves for storing belongings. The bathroom has a stand up shower, Bath and Body antibacterial hand soap, lotion, and shower gel. We also provide Moroccan Oil shampoo and conditioner! Shower cap, hairdryer, and comfy towels also provided (we recommend you bring beach towels for off site use). The kitchen has a brand new 4 burner gas stove, new microwave, new full size refrigerator, coffee maker, ceramic teapot, kettle, pots/pans, toaster, and blender. If you are bringing your bike(s), please feel free to leave them inside your house :) There is also a pergola/patio which is to the left of the front salon building and a bistro table/chairs on the front porch of the salon overlooking the scene on South 1st Street you're welcome to enjoy at night, as well!

PARKING:
There is on site parking for one guest vehicle only. We ask for you to park in the nearest spot to the back Bungalow (about 10 feet from the door - super close and convenient!) We do issue you one parking permit to be put in your vehicle dashboard overnight. If you have more than one vehicle, you are welcome to use the neighborhood free street parking one block away on Herndon Lane/South 1st Street :)

PLEASE NOTE:
If you are considering traveling with your pet, you must communicate this prior to making your reservation. Pets are charged an additional fee per night and, therefore, require special approval on a case by case basis. In addition, your pet must be kenneled in a crate if you plan on leaving him/her in the Bungalow unattended :)

It looks out of the way on a map, but it's an easy drive to 6th street, SOCO, and Barton Springs Ave. Although the pictures are deceiving, it was fine. I wouldn't stay here again just because for the same price I could get a full home or apt in the middle of town. But the hosts are nice and the place works for a couple.

This is a great bungalow to stay at and easy to walk to a bunch of places. The environment was well kept, and a nice selection of amenities were offered. I would definitely stay here again!

Good value and close to Downtown Austin. Checkin was a breeze and host was responsive to requests for extra towels and trash bags. The one downside was the rental was unable to stay cool without use of two fans, which made room quite noisy. I loved the style of kitchen.

Thanks for staying with us, Rebecca!! You two were lovely guests and we enjoyed the opportunity to host you throughout your stay. Santi, our assistant, mentioned the he really enjoyed providing extra amenities, tips, etc during your stay...he lives for this :) Also, sorry it was 106-109 degrees during your weekend visit to Austin :( We're so lucky it stayed cool in your Bungalow as many people around Austin had to be evacuated that weekend due to the heat...we have had extreme heat conditions here in Austin but we are so happy you enjoyed your space and our cute little kitchen!

I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday weekend in Austin. Really clean and host offered great tips on the best locations to eat and drink around the area. 5 min car ride to 6th and really accessible to all parts of Austin. Location is a little bit hidden behind a salon but didn't take long to find. It is a very cozy place with one main room and a small kitchen and bathroom. Perfect size for two but probably not more than that. Hosts had provided a lot of basic amenities (qtips, razor, makeup remover, etc) which we were very impressed with. Everything was spotlessly clean and we had a very good time.

Hello, Ellen!! You were such an amazing guest. Thanks for the sweet compliments on the Bungalow. We love keeping our hidden gem both cozy and charming so we're glad you enjoyed your space and this amazing neighborhood for walking, dining, shopping, etc. And thank you for noticing the special touches, too. Our assistant has been helping us maintain several rentals for 10 years now and he personally makes sure you have those extra qtips, toothpaste, makeup remover, etc...we think this makes a big difference :) Please come again, Ellen!

This place was just what my friend and I needed for a quick weekend trip in Austin. We had never been here before, so we were unsure of the neighborhoods and how getting around would be. We took many cabs to do all the things we wanted to which was a bit expensive but not too difficult. Next time I would definitely rent a car, and the bungalow had space for one which was a nice feature. Very minimal, but like I said we didn't need much and didn't spend too much time there. The air con was great and SO necessary. The location is a bit odd, located behind a salon as a little back house. Wasn't the most pedestrian friendly walking right outside but we didn't have any problems. The owner sent a huge list of things to do and resources that was incredibly helpful, we used that a lot. Thank you!!

I moved to Austin, Texas in January 2004 and absolutely fell in love with the city, in particular, the 78704 area. It is truly magical and the heart of the city, containing Zilker Park, South Congress (SOCO), Barton Springs Pool, Town Lake Running Trail, Umlauf Sculpture Gardens, Botanical Gardens and a walk/bike ride away from downtown. Please feel free to contact me about your upcoming stay in Austin, Texas!
