The Space

About The Hydeout:Our 1928 bungalow has been tastefully renovated to blend historic charm with modern convenience. The home has central heating and A/C. The plumbing and electrical systems were updated in 2005. Our open kitchen features stone counters and stainless steel appliances. Living/Dining Room combo’s refinished original oak floors extend into one bedroom with a queen bed and another with 2 twins. The original bathroom was reconstructed from the studs out in 2008. The 1928 Claw foot tub with shower conversion is not original, but it adds the perfect vintage flair to compliment a new pedestal sink, commode and hexagonal tile floor. Another bathroom was added in 2007 with river rock floor and large walk-in shower. It feels like a miniature spa. Our home also features a large, bright second living area with a pull out sofa and 50” HD TV and DVD player. There is a dog-friendly backyard as well as an outdoor living area with large rock patio, table, chairs, grill and fire pit.About The Neighborhood:Hyde Park or Hyde Park Historic District is a neighborhood in Austin, Texas, USA. Located in Central Austin, Hyde Park is defined by W. 38 Street to the south, Guadalupe Street to the west and W. 51 Street to the north. It is situated just north of the University of Texas (UT) and borders the neighborhoods of Hancock and North Loop. Hyde Park traces its origins back to 1891 and is considered to be Austin's first master planned community. Monroe Martin Shipe originally developed the neighborhood in 1891 as an affluent streetcar suburb with a large artificial lake, but it has since become one of the most densely populated areas in the city's urban core. Hyde Park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.Guests are free to use our bicycles. UT Shuttle IF has 2 stops nearby and takes riders to Daryl K. Royal Stadium. Austin Metro # 5 picks up on the corner and goes right into Downtown, or a cab is $10 to the heart of 6th Street where you will have everything else nearby!Our property is TurnKey Rental Certified.   • My friends and I (four all together) stayed at Mark & Christy's Hyde Park bungalow. We were in Austin for a weekend long dance event and needed someplace nearby to stay. We are all so tired of hotels.

    The house was perfect for us! comfortable and cozy. The kitchen is really well provisioned (if you're there long enough to do some cooking. Bring your own groceries, of course.)

    The living area made visiting together very enjoyable. There's a sweet backyard, too. Having two bathrooms is a real asset. Loved the "sauna" shower.

    Our hosts were very responsive to any questions.

    Hope to use the house again next year!

We are both Residential REALTORS in Austin, Texas and take advantage of every opportunity we get to introduce newcomers to this vibrant and progressive city of ours. We live on the most beautiful street in Austin- Balcones Drive- with our son Jack and Boston Terrier named Charlie. We purchased this condo at the Railyard in February of 2013 because, well, to be honest we got a great deal on it... but also because we always have friends and family coming to Austin and wanting to stay a while. We decided to take the term "Host with the Most" to the next level by offering a downtown condo for them when they come to visit. We like to rent it out to visitors in-between visits.
