This listing is for the master bedroom and its private bathroom in a recently renovated beautiful 1200 sq. ft. home in the historic Holy Cross neighborhood. The room features a private bathroom w/ shower, shelf space, a closet, comfy queen size bed, desk, desk chair, lounge chair, and ceiling fan. I also have an extra bicycle which is included in the cost of renting this room.
Three miles down the road is the French Quarter and its special brand of madness. There are plenty of restaurants/bars/music over in the Bywater just across the canal, from one to two miles from here.
The neighbors are cool. There's a bar next door to my place, which is unusual for this neighborhood as it's mostly residential. Around the corner from here is a semi-swank little cafe, that serves some very good New Orleans style cuisine.
Sometimes the bar next door is poppin' and this place feels right in the heart of New Orleans's craziness, and other times the bar is quiet and the house feels removed from it all.
Two blocks up is a bus stop that will run you downtown w/ ease.
Did I mention that I've got a loaner bike too? Do not rent a bike! That's a hustle!
This is a nice place and less cramped than your typical AirBnB listing in New Orleans. It is not a shotgun, which means (if you're not up on New Orleans-style livin') that bedrooms are truly private.
Also, I have no pets.
You'll have access to the house... like any old roommate situation. I'll have my room. You'll have your room. There's another bedroom someone might stay in, that would be their's. And the rest of the space will be shared, including whatever appliances I have... as of the time of this writing, I have no washer/dryer/dishwasher. Musicians: I do also have an 88-key digital piano musicians if you need something to practice on.
I've been interacting quite a bit with guests, but I make no promises. :) I'm a musician and travel sometimes. Checking in is painless though as I have a lock box w/ keys near the front door.
The best thing about the neighborhood is the neighbors... there's very regularly a party happening at the bar next door to me.
Bus stop two blocks from here.

We loved staying with Brian! He is a giving, considerate, and fun guy. He is also a great musician. The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. We found it easy to get to the central city and back by bus, cab and bike from his home. His neighborhood is a perfect place to stay if you want to explore parts of the city less traveled like the Brad Pitt houses, the challmette battlefield, and restaurants like Cafe Dauphine which is just a block away from Brian's place. We definitely plan on coming back.
Staying with Brian was such a comfortable and straightforward treat! He's incredibly thoughtful and generous; I felt really comfortable coming and going, asking him questions, and rummaging around his kitchen in the morning. The place is not far at all from downtown and he took the time to explain the city and made sure I knew what I was doing – his insights even led me to a cool jazz nightlife experience one night. As a host, he's truly thoughtful as can be. I can't recommend Brian highly enough!
Easy, inexpensive, and comfortable! Stayed at Brian's place for three weeks - he was super accommodating and kind. Bar next door is a bit loud sometimes, but overall price and experience was good! Easy bus rides from his place to French Quarter and Central Business District.
Perfect, easy, no fuss stay. Nice private room with private bath. Clean and comfortable. Brian is a great, relaxed host. No complaints! All positive and would highly recommend to anyone.
