The apartment has : WIFI, AC, HEAT, CATS
Fully furnished bedroom/ kitchen/ and bathroom. There is NO LIVING ROOM.
The actual bedroom is the size of a shoe box, BUT there are drawers in the bed and there is an actual closet with some storage space.
I live here too, BUT I am very easy to get along with, low key, down to earth, (social if you want me to be), and I keep the space clean and tidy. I will write you a list of all the cool stuff to do around here, and if I'm free I don't find taking you there.
Now about the neighborhood:
CLOSE TO ALL TRAINS *less than a block from A,C,E,F,D,B TRAINS*
There is fine cuisine restaurants and affordable eating everywhere! It's really close to the Comedy Cellar, the Blue Note, all the best jazz clubs, and little boutiques every corner! Delis everywhere... CVS, bla bla blah, it can't get more convenient in terms of being able to find anything at anytime on the apartment's street.
It's definitely in the heart of the action but surprisingly still has a residential feel to it! It's footsteps away from Washington Sq Park, and a couple Chess shops and laundromats :)
Anna could not have done more to get me into her place during the chaos of "Snowmaggedon" that affected my schedule. Her place is located in a great neighborhood full of restaurants and bars, and quick access to the many subways. Her apartment, like most others in the area, are small, with bedrooms the size of suburban closets. Note that she has two cats.
The bedroom is interior to the building so quiet, and you can raise the window a bit to get fresh air if you want (I did). The toilet and shower are separate, but cramped - again, typical for the area. Her placed was close to where I needed to be early next morning, and since I had a good idea of what other places in the area looked like, I had no issues and got a good nights sleep.
Anna was not in town, and unfortunately I did not get to meet her. However, she left thorough instructions and was prompt in making certain to respond to questions, even from a different time zone! She also left information for a more local contact, whom I also did not meet, but who was helpful via text messaging with my initial confusion as to exactly which room I was supposed to take! Keycafe was convenient and worked without any issue, as well. I would definitely let Anna know next time I need a basic room to stay in for the weekend!
I appreciated Anna doing her best to make me feel welcome, given the last-minute booking and her being out of town in a different time zone. The room was quaint and private, being on the opposite end of the apartment than the other rooms. However, the rest of the apartment was a mess and there were at least 2 additional people staying there in the unit that were not disclosed. I didn't necessarily feel comfortable, and ended up finding an alternative place to sleep.
Thank you Anna for your place! I had a great 2-nights staying. The description was accurate - small room with bed but that was my only need -just to stay over night. The area around is just awesome - lots of bars, clubs, boutiques etc. Easy access to transportation.
And magnificent Washington Sq Park just in a few minutes)
Very small but cozy room in a nice part of town. Anna was not at that time in New York, but the key handover through KeyCafe passed with ease thanks to a very detailed instructions!
Great location, and a perfectly comfortable place to crash for the night. Had everything for my minimalist needs.
