  • Kate and her room mate ben were lovely hosts, Kate was easy to contact and all the information given was correct. Our private room was very spacious and bed comfy. There was ample room in the fridge for our food and a nice atmosphere throughout our stay. The location is safe and approx 45min walk to state st or the harbour. There also buses that run from 5 blocks away which are regular.

  • We showed up when Laura Kate was out and she made sure we were more than adequately set up to get into the house and our room for the night we were in town. The room was great, exactly what we expected, and she had the kitchen stocked with a nice array of food for breakfast.

  • We stayed only one night in Santa Barbara but Lauras Place was perfect for us. The room is nicely decorated. The bed was very cozy and the neighbourhood calm at night.
Even if it is called 'bnb' many hosts do not offer breakfast, which is ok as it can bee seen in the description before booking. Laura offered breakfast and we really enjoyed it.

  • We had a very brief stay in Santa Barbara and chose one night In Laura Kate's accommodation which was a nice walk to the beach and downtown, with plenty of space to park the car safely at the back of the house. The house was in a quiet suburban area and easy to find. The room had a lovely dark wooden floor with green curtains and was at the front of the house. The bed was high but very comfortable and we slept well. While the water pressure in the basin in the bathroom seemed a little less than normal, the shower was powerful and good.

  • Everything was great. The apartment was much cheaper than a hotel, included parking, and was close to everything important. The dog is adorable and settles down after a minute or two of barking.

  • What I love most about "airbnb" as a whole is the range and diversity of experiences and tones that the hosts establish. Since I'm not really able to reciprocally accommodate guests in my own house in an "airbnb" manner (I am a cyclist who is enrolled with WarmShowers, a touring cyclist overnight lodging website because I DO have a couch and a kitchen!), it's a joy for me to see how others do it. Laura Kate's accommodations were my fifth with this service, but the first that was accented with more guest self-sufficiency than the previous others. For a Randonneur Cyclist and seasoned hospitality veteran like myself, this is an easy adjustment to make: Key wrapped in warm reception note awaiting in the mailbox, parking space and bedroom made readily available, milk in fridge/cereal on table for next morning, etc. No muss, no fuss, easy-peasy. Since I ritualistically indulge in pasta carbo load the night before my ride, it was a nice to know that Laura Kate manages an Italian restaurant in downtown Santa Barbara, so it was easy to make a reservation and it provided opportunity for meet & greet with her. (And I ordered the Dumplings Bolognese which did the trick!) Her housemate, Ben, was very accommodating; gave me driving directions, adjusted for cooler internal air flow during the heatwave SB was experiencing and kept the volume at bay (both Cosmo the friendly, chatty house dog and the television) so I could retire early with zero problems. And, the best part, I had opportunity to sleep in THAT bed for two nights, so slept very soundly. Strictly speaking of comfy beds in the "airbnb" Universe, this one rates an 11 out of 10, it's THAT otherworldly. Also, a real nice touch worth noting: I ran out of battery power on my MAC PowerBook and the outlets wouldn't accommodate my own 3-prong plug, so it was great to see the appropriate cord already plugged i at the kitchen table, thereby creating a Breakfast Nook Laptop Work Station.
