We are situated in the historic Brunswick Northwest Neighborhood where you can stroll among the stately homes built in the mid to late 1800's, many with beautiful grounds and gardens. Quick access to the Androscoggin River walking/biking trail.
There is a public transit bus stop directly across the street. Good supermarket and Brunswick Transportation Center (with bus and train connections) are a five minute walk away. Freeport is 10 minutes south by car, Portland 20, and Brunswick is situated at the entry to the coastal route north for Bath, Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, Rockland and all destinations beyond.
In the summer/fall, there is an excellent farmer's market on the Brunswick Mall downtown. Off season, a popular "winter market" is held on weekends in the refurbished Cabot Mill (10 minute walk). Brunswick has two art movie houses, one in the mill and one downtown, as well as a multiplex theater 2 miles away at the Cook's Corner Mall. The very fine Bowdoin Museum of Art is open year-round and free of charge. In the summer, the Maine State Music Theatre and Bowdoin International Music Festival present first-rate popular and classical entertainment.
It was a wicked good stay heay in Brunswick, ME. The apartment is more spacious than the pictures show. It was a perfect place stay for an extended weekend. The hosts were wonderful. They gave us a big welcome, were available when we needed them and were not intrusive. The best blend in a host. Bottom line, we'll be in Brunswick again and we plan on staying with Martin.
Great place to stay at! Everything was hassle free and the hosts were most excellent!
we're frequent travelers and found this to be a perfect property for a weekend or extended stay for a couple. much better arrangement than a hotel and reasonably priced. large bedroom, large sitting room, nice size bath and adequate light cooking and dining space. refrigerator and larder stocked with food essentials to start each day. only a two block walk to the shops and restaurants on Brunswick's main street, with a nearby wine store and a major grocery. Brunswick itself is easily accessible from route 95 and close to Portland and other Maine vacation sites.
everyone in town knew our delightful hosts, two well known and respected local business people. martin met us at the door, reviewed the property and amenities, and stayed in touch from start to finish.
would highly recommend the owners, property and town.
What a treat to be able to stay in this beautifully appointed, immaculate, comfortable, quiet, charming apartment. Marty is the perfect host: communication was straightforward and quick, everything about the apartment was as described, and I felt that I could have asked for anything--if I had needed anything other than what was so generously provided (a fridge with an assortment of breakfast items, information about restaurants in town, etc.). Everything about this experience was positive!
Perfect in Every way.
Our first time AirBnB stay could not have been better: ideal location for exploring the ME coast, in a private cozy suite/apt with friendly and welcoming hosts.
Not only were Marty and Henry warm and welcoming, they were also full of great tips about traveling the coast of ME; respectful of our privacy and there whenever we needed them, their suggestions really made for a memorable trip.
We did not want to leave!
If I could give Martin & Henry 6 stars I would! The apartment was beautiful and extremely comfortable. Without a doubt the BEST accommodations in Brunswick!
This separate apartment in a wonderful historic home was clean and charming and spacious! The kitchenette was perfect and the beds were comfy. It is an ideal location for any Bowdoin families who are visiting campus and it is walking distance to the town. Martin was very accommodating and friendly; would definitely return!
Is there anything we can say better than "perfect"? Perhaps "magic"? This was an incredibly great and memorable experience. We are so happy we found this place and now have a Brunswick home base. We really hope to return sometime! Martin and Henry are warm and welcoming, the apartment is silent and large, and the bed is sooooo comfortable. Three thumbs up!
Martin was an excellent host! He is welcoming, knowledgeable about the area, and well known by owners of the the local restaurants and businesses. The spacious apartment is clean, well-kept, and gets lots of sunlight while also maintaining a rustic charm and ambiance. It is just minutes from the town of Brunswick where you can find plenty of restaurants and shopping.
