We are situated in the historic Brunswick Northwest Neighborhood where you can stroll among the stately homes built in the mid to late 1800's, many with beautiful grounds and gardens. Quick access to the Androscoggin River walking/biking trail.
There is a public transit bus stop directly across the street. Good supermarket and Brunswick Transportation Center (with bus and train connections) are a 5-10 minute walk away. Freeport is only 10 minutes south by car, Portland 20, and Brunswick is situated at the entry to the coastal route north for Bath, Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, Rockland and all destinations beyond.
Other Things to Note
In the summer/fall, there is an excellent farmer's market on the Brunswick Mall downtown on Tuesdays and Fridays. Off season, a popular "winter market" is held on weekends in the refurbished Cabot Mill (10 minute walk). Brunswick has two art movie houses, one in the mill and one downtown, as well as a multiplex theater 2 miles away at the Cook's Corner Mall. The very fine Bowdoin Museum of Art is open year-round and free of charge. In the summer, the Maine State Music Theatre and Bowdoin International Music Festival present first-rate popular and classical entertainment.
Absolutely no smoking, no pets. IMPORTANT: Please make every effort to plan your arrival in Brunswick between 2-8 pm. However, with adequate advance notice, we are happy to provide earlier check-in (when possible), as well as after-hours self-access.
My husband I, with a friend, had a great stay at Martin's apartment. It was exactly as stated, the 2 rooms were bigger than expected. The apartment was very clean, well furnished.
The house is right in Brunswick, so we walked to a restaurant (Henry and Marty's) for a great dinner and on the next day up to Bowdoin College for a great exhibition.
We certainly intend to return and I have already suggested it to friends coming in the Fall from Alaska.
Many thanks, Marty
Thinking back on our time in Brunswick and Coastal Maine, I can honestly say that the biggest highlight was having Marty as a host. Leading up to our visit, he inquired about any needs we might have for our 16 month old daughter and went above in beyond in taking care of those needs. The comfort and privacy afforded by his beautiful property exceeded my expectations! We especially enjoyed reading Marty's extensive collection of books on cooking, music, and philosophy while also getting our Dr. Seuss on with our daughter! Marty outfitted us with a fine selection of food that served us well for most breakfasts and lunches. We had most dinners out on Marty's (email hidden)ey did not disappoint! Our only regret is that we didn't get to talk to Marty a bit more. Perhaps next time! :) I highly recommend this place to anybody considering Brunswick as your base camp for Maine adventures!
All was fine, and definitely as described. We found brunswick to be a lovely town, and well-situated for a Maine visit. For example, we're L.L.Bean fans, and their Freeport 'real store' is a wonderful experience, and it's a 20-minute drive away. Martin was a good host, and there were helpful/tasty foodstuff in the fridge upon arrival.
The positive comments from other renters are accurate and spot on! Martin and Henry's apartment is delightful. The gentlemen are warm, welcoming, and helpful. Martin's attention to detail is apparent in every aspect, for example, local food in the refrigerator (we had fresh Maine blueberries), two sets of apartment keys, and hand-grip safety bars in the bathroom. Did anyone mention Henry's amazing, large collection of cook books on the shelves in the living room? An international chef's tour! Even after six nights' stay we hated to leave! Thank you Martin and Henry. We'll see you again next time!

My rental with Martin was my first experience with Airbnb and a positive one.
The reservation process went well.
At arrival, Martin was there to welcome us and show us the place. Some food was in the frig for our convenience. Well appreciated.
The place was clean as we like it.
Martin's place is right in the middle of Brunswick. Easy to do our errons before leaving for the day.
We would definitely repeat the experience and hopefully sooner than later.
Martin was there if needed and yet discrete otherwise.
So if you are looking for a place downtown Brunswick, I would recommend this one.
Thank you Martin for making our stay pleasant!
The host's warm welcome, deep knowledge of the town and thoughtful provision of breakfast items made our stay in this spacious and well-planned suite a supremely pleasant and comfortable one.
