I arrived too late and left too early to meet Leila in-person, but I did get to meet her lovely cat and dog. Leila was super fast in communications and her king size bed was so comfortable that I was a bit sad that I couldn't sleep in!
Leila was a responsive and friendly host. Her place is spacious and very quiet, the bedroom very comfortable and the bathroom clean and well-equipped. As dog people, we loved Tate who is very friendly and well-behaved for a youngster. Clyde is a typical cat, but he was friendly too! If we're back in Sausalito we'll certainly consider returning to Leila's.
I had a great stay at Leila's. She is a very warm-hearted, relaxed and generous hostess. The house is very pleasant with great facilities: the bed is huge and extra comfortable and the adjacent private bathroom well equipped. I am a light sleeper and found the house very quiet at night.
There are great restaurants, cafes and organic shops nearby and it is a good location to visit Marin County.
I recommend Leila's retreat!
Leila is an excellent host. Room & location accurately described.
I had a great time being Leila's guest in Sausalito. She took me hiking in the mountains and showed me all the beautiful trails with wonderful views over the bay area. The apartment was very pleasant to be in and all her recommendations of restaurants, food shopping etc. were perfect. Her house is very close to the nice and "untouristy" part of town so you can reach everything by foot. Very friendly bike rental on Bridgeway and absolutely fantastic hiking opportunities in the Marin headlands. Truly enjoyed my stay.
Leila, Tate the dog and her 15 yr old cat Clyde are fantastic hosts. You get a spotless room (what a bed!) and private bathroom in a wonderful environment. Ideally situated for hiking trips around Mt Tam, Point Reyes and Marin Headlands. Leila will provide you with everything you need like maps and specialised advice. Shops and restaurants are nearby for breakfast/lunch. Next to all this Leila is a person with the heart in right place. Will return when possible
This was our second stay with Leila, and it was again wonderful. We brought our baby girl with us and Leila was gracious and accommodating. She has an adorable puppy who was very gentle with our baby when we had them interact. Her home is quiet and peaceful, with thoughtful elements for guests. Despite having a cat and a dog, the space is clean and fresh. Our room and bathroom were impeccably clean (and I'm picky). We hope to return and stay with Leila in the future for a longer stay! Highly recommended for an enjoyable Sausalito/San Fran experience.
I'm so glad that I chose Leila's place to stay, and quite simply put, YOU WILL BE TOO!! :) When Leila opened her door to my dog and I, I truly felt as though she was not just offering a room for the evening, but rather she was welcoming us into her home, like family.
I chose to stay with Leila after reading a couple of her reviews, as it was quickly evident that, by not just having the typical feedback: "easy parking, clean bed, nice person", Leila's reviewers were leaving a conscious trail of breadcrumbs to be followed by the increasingly mindful travelers of today's fast paced world.
Reading reflections such as "went above and beyond as a host & could not be more accommodating", "mi casa es su casa", and my favorite "Do you ever feel like you have met a genuinely kind soul? This is Leila.", speak volumes.
Leila was extremely easy to deal with from start to finish. She was very responsive to my questions via email, flexible to my influx travel schedule, kindly offered a bit of a late arrival and was such a warm and gracious host with a beautiful smile.
She was attentive to my dog after our travels (dog owners know what I mean and we highly appreciate this), ensured we (he) had everything he needed to settle in. BTW - her pup was the sweetest!
Leila's place was very clean, parking was a breeze, the bed was large and VERY comfortable and the private bath offered everything one could need. To top everything off, Leila generously offers a selection of amenities (snacks/drinks/maps & local info), in the true spirit of kindness.
Thank you Leila! - BE well
Best part: Giant king sized bed(!) is such a luxury, it was great. Although we didn't meet in person, the hospitality was still surprisingly fantastic-- always responsive and even left some waters and snacks out for us that came very handy on our hiking trip the next day, which was just about a 30 minute drive from the house. We also found the restaurant recommendations handy and just a 5 minute drive down the road we found a few great places for dinner (at nighttime we didn't really find it walkable from the house), but beware if you are parking around Sausalito-- we got nailed with a $60 parking ticket for not seeing a sign-- whoops!
It was a short visit, but just what we needed :)
Great Location and very reasonable price! Leila was very welcoming; mi casa es su casa type thing. Would love to come back again!
