This beautiful four bedroom Victorian house is just a few minutes' walk from two of Dublin best know suburbs, Ranelagh and Rathmines, with cafes, artisan restaurants, classic Irish pubs and boutique shops just a stroll away.
Ranelagh/Rathmines are two of Dublin's most desirable urban villages, minutes from the bustling city centre, with a thriving cafe culture, several modern but traditional pubs, all required amenities and a choice of coffee outlets.
Ideally located for easy access to the RDS, National Conference Centre, O2 Arena, Aviva Stadium and the city centre itself, Ranelagh and Rathmines are perfect spot that is close to the action, but quiet enough to withdraw to.
The house is just a four minutes' walk from frequent and reliable public transport to Dublin city centre via bus, Luas (tram) and Dublin bikes. Late at night there will be plenty of taxis available to take you right to the door, although public transport also runs late at weekends. Ample on Street parking available.
Please leave my house in the condition in which you found it, and treat it well during your stay.
No smoking indoors, but you can sit in the quiet garden and smoke if you wish.
No loud noise at night, and no parties or extra people please.
Norah was a fabulous host and we very much enjoyed our week in Dublin. She was there to greet us when we arrived by taxi and already had the kitchen stocked with a number of necessities (including beer!). The house is beautiful and much larger on the inside than the outside would suggest. There were five of us - my wife and three of our four (adult) children and we had all the space we needed. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfy and the kids indicated their beds were great as well. The location in Rathmines is ideal - close enough to walk to the city center (for the adventurous), yet far enough out to have a real village feel. We tried several restaurants (and pubs) in Rathmines and Ranelagh and were impressed with both the quantity and quality of eating and drinking establishments. We had great luck with the weather - mild temperatures and hardly any precipitation, so we didn't make much use of the fireplace. But it was well stocked with logs and briquettes. Norah was very accessible by phone to answer the inevitable questions that arise as you acclimate to new accommodations. She even sent an electrician over to take a look at a circuit breaker that was continuously tripping. We managed to isolate and correct the problem and had no issues afterwards. All in all a great experience and some really special memories as we got to know this corner of Dublin whilst celebrating our daughter's commencement at Trinity College Dublin.
Norah has a beautiful home, is always available to help and did everything in her power to accommodate us.
This places is absolutely fantastic! This three bedroom, 3-story row house was perfect for our group. It was very cozy, had helpful amenities (to include a dishwasher and a washer and dryer), and was a very convenient ~10 minute train ride away from St. Stephen's Green (in Dublin's City Center). Norah is an extremely gracious host. Not only did she provide food and drink for breakfasts (and midnight snacks), but she also had an extremely helpful booklet with all of the details needed for guests and travelers, such as public transit methods, near-by restaurants, and day-trip excursion ideas. She was extremely helpful and communicative; a very wonderful host.
This place is a really fantastic find! The location is great, the house is lovely, the host phenomenal, and accommodations large enough to house an entire group. Highly recommended!
Our stay at Norah's was an ideal introduction to Airbnb. Her beautiful home is quite comfortable and Rathmines' a lively area of Dublin. Most importantly, Norah is a superb hostess. She carefully & cheerfully introduced us to all the relevant details of the house......keys, alarms, washer/dryer, water heater, TV remotes, kitchen equipment, & PC; but also gave us full access to every part of the house & garden, excepting her private quarters. In short, we were given complete liberty of her home & treated with the care & familiarity of close, trusted friends. She also very thoughtfully provided us with plenty of tour brochures, plus personal comments & recommendations.
Beautiful, spacious house in a very pleasant neighborhood. Norah is a great host; we felt very welcome and would definitely stay there again. As a group of nine we couldn't have got the same level of comfort in a hotel, but here we did - at a fraction of the cost.
We stayed at Norah's house in Dublin for four nights. It's a lovely house in a nice neighborhood, close to great restaurants and a short walk to public transport, which takes you quickly to city center. Norah is the perfect host; she is helpful and informative. She doesn't hover, but magically appears when you need her. I recommend her and her B&B Very highly!
