Genuinely the best place we've stayed anywhere in the world when using airbnb.
The cottage is located at the rear of Mike's own home and is of a quality to put most hotels to shame. The cottage also features Mike's own beautiful artwork, and the property itself is full of superb features and touches.
Free parking is available on the street outside the property and the neighbourhood felt really safe. It's about $10-$12 in an Uber from the centre of town.
Mike provided drinks on our arrival and the property was clean and quiet. When we did see Mike he was great to chat to, really friendly and engaging.
We loved staying with Mike and recommend him without hesitation.
Mike's place is just beautiful. The cottage, where we stayed at, was so beautiful furnished and clean. We really liked it. Mike is just a kind person and gave us good advices. A perfect place to stay in san diego :)
I lived in San Diego for many years, and rode my bike by Mike's place many times thinking: ' what a cool looking place, I wonder what it looks like behind all those amazing succulents' ~ coming back now for visits, I have found my perfect retreat.
Mike has created a wonderful, quiet sanctuary surrounded by a bustling city.
The cottage is tucked behind the house and is a gorgeous craftsman-style hideaway. Perfect for relaxing after a busy day out, and perfectly situated for walking to everything. He has paid the highest detail to everything ~ design, layout and all the amenities you need, plus he is the most pleasant, relaxed host.
I love the cottage and will definitely be back.

About the Host, Mike
I am a painter and an art instructor and have worked in the field for thirty years. I have lived in this residence for 26 years and have applied all of my skills and interest to restoring this house to its historic roots. I was delighted when my zero-scape garden won the neighborhood award and was mentioned in a "Sunset Magazine" walking tour of the area. I spend most of my time painting in the art studio and therefore, enjoys the opportunity to meet people from other places.
