Awesome Couch in Washington Heights

Apartment - Shared room · West 182nd Street, New York, NY 10033, United States

I'm renting out my foldout couch for visitors to rest. The apartment is small, but its a great place to crash after a long day in the city. Conveniently located in the heart of Washington Heights right near the 1 & A train, only 30min to Midtown.

I'm renting out my foldout couch for visitors to rest. The apartment is small, but its a great place to crash after a long day in the city. Conveniently located in the heart of Washington Heights right near the 1 & A train, only 30min to Midtown.

The Space

Located on the first floor of the building, it is an adorable little apartment with lots of sunlight that spills in through the windows.

The couch is the SOLSTA sofa bed from Ikea. It folds out to create a full length sized bed.

Guest Access

Access to the bathroom and kitchen.

Interaction with Guests

Once you check in, I try to stay out of your way as much as possible.

The Neighborhood

The apartment is located right next to a department store and there are two grocery stores right around the corner along with a Laundromat, so everything you need is within reach. There are also a ton of great restaurants located in the neighborhood and, my personal favorite, a Little Caesar’s right up the block.

Getting around

The 1 train is literally a few steps away from the apartment making commuting a breeze. Also, a few blocks away the A train has a stop.

Other Things to Note

I do allow more than one guest to stay if you are traveling with a friend or a significant other. I charge $15 dollars for every extra person.

  • Joey is very friendly and accommodating. Place is simple and it is exactly what I needed when I roamed around the city. One thing is that his place has no A/C for now, so staying in the summer will be way too hot. During my stay, the outside temperature is cool enough that I can sleep comfortably as long as I don't use a blanket. Overall, a wonderful experience and I will stay at his place again.

  • Joey was a great host, he always answered to my questions, the check in/out was easy with him. The subway is really close to the appartement so that a great point. Isolation was not really good, so maybe use ear plugs. that was not a luxury room but for only spend the night and for the price it's cool. Thanks for the hosting joey !

  • Joey was an awesome host. I enjoyed my stay there, although it was just a couch it was pretty cozy. He worked with our flight schedule which was superb, otherwise we would of had to roam the city with our luggage. The place is what it is, the pictures depict it nicely. The train is around the block, which was amazing after walking all day. It took us about 30 minutes to get downtown, but it doesn't even feel like it with all the commotion that's going on around you.

  • I didn't see Joey a lot, but he seemed like a very nice guy. He contacted me before I arrived to make sure we could intercept each other, so I could get the key. His apartment is in a vibrant, multicultural area of the city, which I loved. It's within walking distance to the A and the 1 trains, making it easy to get downtown, to Times Square, etc. The couch folds out into a foam mattress, so it's comfy and very sleepable. It is a small apartment and obviously isn't luxury, but for anyone craving an organic New York experience, this is one of the best deals for staying the night in Manhattan.

  • Great host and location: 2 min from the metro station / 30 min from downtown. The description is accurate, I recommend this place to others.

  • Simple as it gets , here is were you sleep ,there the restroom , here's the keys . Has a vibe of staying over at a friends house. Kinda far but whatever it's cheap.

  • I really enjoyed my short stay in NYC.

Joey was really nice and he even waited until 2 am on my day of arrival.

Everything was clean and well-kept. Plus it is a really affordable place to stay.
All the sights can be reached by subway in a very short time. . And the subway station is just around the corner. :-) Neighborhood is safe.

    I can recommend this place:-)
