I'm renting out my foldout couch for visitors to rest. The apartment is small, but its a great place to crash after a long day in the city. Conveniently located in the heart of Washington Heights right near the 1 & A train, only 30min to Midtown.
Located on the first floor. THIS MEANS NO STAIRS, YAY. It is an adorable little apartment with lots of sunlight that spills in through the windows.
Access to the bathroom and kitchen.
The apartment is located right next to a department store and there are two grocery stores right around the corner along with a Laundromat, so everything you need is within reach. There are also a ton of great restaurants located in the neighborhood and, my personal favorite, a Little Caesar’s right up the block.
The 1 train is literally a few steps away from the apartment making commuting a breeze. Also, a few blocks away the A train has a stop.
I do allow more than one guest to stay if you are traveling with a friend or a significant other. I charge $15 dollars for every extra person.
Joey was a great host !
Je recommande cet hôte à tous les français, très sympa et très bon prix
For a safe, relatively clean, and warm place to sleep, this is one of the best, short term, flexible deals I found to live in NYC.
Joey was a kind and helpful host; open to requests and considerate. I checked in at a later time and he was able to work something out with me.
The couch does not have a pull out frame, the cushions unfold out. You are close to the kitchen - a little tough if you're a light sleeper. There is space in the fridge to put groceries and such, but no microwave.
The location is great for those needing to take trains downtown or buses to Jersey; as well as for getting groceries, UPS, USPS, laundromat. There are a coupla restaurants and food vendors to check out.
You'll want to read this twice... I stayed in Manhattan, over the entire Super Bowl weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) for less than $100!!! You can't stay in Manhattan on a "normal" weekend for that price!
Staying at Joey's place was perfect for me (and anyone else traveling solo just looking for a place to lay your head and keep your luggage). I saw Joey twice throughout my entire stay (which was just fine, felt like I had the place to myself). It really is just as he described, a nice warm place with a pull-out couch to lay your head at night and be able to enjoy the city on the cheap.
I recommend it!
Trés bon accueil de la Part de Joey !!
j'ai été ravie de mon séjour chez lui.
Emplacement proche du métro c'est l'idéal !
Joey was a great host. It was like being at a friend's flat. Easygoing.
I had a pretty cool stay at Joey's room this january.
The subway is only one minute away and the room was very comfortable. The awesome was not that awesome I hoped, but absolutely okay. The only thing I don't like about that room is the alarm of the entrance.
Joey was great. Really friendly. Gave me good instructions to get to his place. Had clean sheets and towel ready. Even made me a cup of tea in the morning. AND super cheap!
Had a very nice stay at Joey's place. Neighborhood was cool and eclectic. Joey was a very nice, accommodating host, good and timely communicator.
It takes about 30 seconds from the nearest station to the apartment. That was so good. In addition there's
a supermarket in one-minute-walk area. Above all Joey was soo nice person!! Every time I asked something, I replied immediately. That made me feel better and comfortable. Only thing I complain about is the alarm of the entrance is a bit noisy. That made me wake sometimes in the midnight.
Joey is nice, and very flexible. The apartment is close to the subway, it was easy to get everywhere in the city. I'd recommend his place to anybody.
