Welcome to Walden! A place that combines the beauty of the natural world with the warmth of a modern cabin. Located on 54 acres along the historic Shenandoah River, Walden offers one of the most spectacular retreats in the valley. Amenities include:

The space
Walden is situated on 54 acres along the Shenandoah River. It is an easy walk along the path through the field to our river access. (the river access is shared only with our cabin called Sundance)

Guest access
Guests have access to walk the 54 acres and enjoy the picnic area on the river. The 2 picnic/sitting area along river are solely for the guests of Walden and our other 1 bedroom cabin, Sundance.

Other things to note
*LINENS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOTAL PRICE* Linens (Sheets and Towels) are only provided upon request for a fee of $50. We do provide blankets and pillows at no additional charge. If you wish for us to provide linens please let us know and we will send you a payment request for this fee. We welcome you to bring your own linens. Discounts for linens apply for one night rentals.

Firewood is not provided for the outdoor fire pit.

You will need to bring your own charcoal for the grill

The 2 private river front picnic/sitting areas are solely for the guests of Walden and our other one bedroom cabin, Sundance.

My name is Derek and my wife, Olga and I are the owners of Woodside Cabins in Rileyville, Va. We have been in the vacation rental business for 25 years. I am also a carpenter and I designed and built our 4 properties. We enjoy our time here in the Shenandoah Valley and love to get out to explore all the area has to offer. We are avid hikers and will be happy to point you to some of our favorite trails.
