A quaint and beautiful bedroom in a two bedroom apartment is available. Did you know that NYC is ranked the most expensive vacation destination in the country? When you consider the cost of a tiny 2 to 4-star hotel room, meals, drinks, taxi rides and sightseeing, the cost really adds up! Staying with us can help you off-set some of those costs! The perfect stay for business or pleasure and the ideal option for anyone who doesn't want to pay $300+ a night for a tiny hotel room! Bushwick is a unique, safe, fun and interesting neighborhood. The area is home to many artists and young creative professionals including musicians, writers, poets and a vibrant "multi-ethnic" culture, which give the area a very eclectic energy, charm and "hip-ness". A quintessential Brooklyn experience! There are many new cafes, bistro's, coffee shops, wine/liquor stores, trendy restaurants, bars, clubs and natural food markets nearby and Bushwick was recently voted "the hippest neighborhood in the United States" by Time Magazine...

Beautifully decorated, fully furnished, private, quaint and comfortable apartment that is perfect for cooking, enjoying an evening in, or just getting ready to go out, with hardwood floors throughout, AC and heat, plush and cozy living room with a shabby chic oversized down-feather sofa, leather ottoman, shared tiled tub/shower bathroom with fresh towels, and fully equipped modern kitchen w/elegant black kitchen island, automatic coffee maker or French press, automatic tea kettle, new appliances and leather stools (no dishwasher). Free wireless internet throughout apartment, Apple TV with HBO, Showtime, Netflix, etc., with large 50" flat panel surround HD TV (NO CABLE). The private and cozy guest bedroom available has a comfortable full-size daybed that is comfortable enough for two adults (and converts to a pull out trundle Queen), clean designer linens, closet/wardrobe and sitting area with large dining table/desk, very sunny with south facing large windows overlooking the street, two curtained french doors to living room and lush black velvet curtains on street windows for added privacy. You will also have a set of keys to come and go as you desire. Depending on the season and availability, our prices are negotiable. There is a $25.00 cleaning fee payable at time of booking for weekly stays, and a $75.00 fee for monthly stays. There is also door to door, pick-up and drop off laundry service available every day.

Our home is a wonderful and elegantly relaxed "Pied De Terre" you can call home for a week or a month or more. We are caring hosts (Professional Musician/Producer and Interior Designer/Florist) who are low-key, relaxed, sociable, well respected, outgoing, busy and respectful of privacy. We are also very neat, clean and maintain our apartment to high standards and appreciate the same in prospective guests.

Looking forward to hearing from you and the possibility of enjoying your company as guests in our beautiful home!

The neighborhood

Bushwick is a hip, unique, safe, fun and interesting neighborhood. The area is home to many artists and young creative professionals including musicians, writers, poets and a vibrant "multi-ethnic" culture, which give the area a very eclectic energy, charm and "hip-ness". A quintessential Brooklyn experience! There are many new cafes, bistro's, coffee shops, a wine store, trendy restaurants, bars, clubs and natural food markets nearby and Bushwick was recently voted "the hippest neighborhood in the United States" by Time Magazine. There are many local restaurants, bars and restaurant delivery services (if you enjoy Mexican, Puerto Rican, Dominican, French, Thai, Spanish or Chinese cuisine, it doesn't get any more authentic). A fast 15 minutes by subway/metro/car service/taxi* to downtown Manhattan via the Williamsburg Bridge and 20 minutes to Midtown/Times Square. The neighborhood is very safe, as well as, vibrant, bohemian and culturally diverse. We are blocks away from city parks, bars, music venues, zip cars, shops and a few short subway stops from Manhattan (Lower East Side, Soho, Chelsea, Midtown, Upper West/Eastside), Ridgewood, Williamsburg, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Downtown Brooklyn and Greenpoint. There are also two Zipcar garages within short walking distance for those of you who are members.

Getting around

Our location is Central Avenue, between Stanhope and Stockholm in Bushwick, off Myrtle and DeKalb. We are approximately 2 blocks (a short 2 min walk) from the Central Avenue "M" train which takes roughly 15 minutes to the Lower East Side, Soho, Canal Street, Lower Manhattan, Greenwich Village, Financial District, Chelsea and 20-25 mins to Midtown, Times Square, Herald Square, Penn Station/Port Authority, Central Park and the Upper West/East Side via the 6th Avenue (Orange) subway line. You can also take the "M" train 2 stops to the "L" train at the Myrtle/Wyckoff stop, which will take you completely across Manhattan via 14th Street, as well as, walking (10 minutes) to the Dekalb Avenue L stop. My wife and I commute on a daily basis and it's extremely convenient for getting into the city and very fast/efficient. As its the 6th Avenue line, you rarely have to transfer to other trains as it's SO central to all destinations in Manhattan. Keep in mind that if you travel after from 11pm-6am, the travel time is extended by approximately 10 minutes. There is ample street parking, free at all times. Also there are many trusted 24 hour car service company's serving the NYC Metro area. If you have a car, the drive is about the same and parking is relatively easy in our neighborhood. We are also about 5-10 minutes from the Long Island Expressway, BQE and connections to the NY Thruway, Jackie Rob Expressway, etc. Taxis from Manhattan to our place run between $14-20 depending upon the time of day and arrive in Bushwick via The Williamsburg Bridge/5th Street/Bushwick Ave. The route is very direct and easy to follow. You can also get a 24 car service to lower Manhattan for a $20 flat fee including tip, $25-30 for Midtown and Upper New York (Eastside/Westside).

Other things to note

One of the safest and coolest neighborhoods in Brooklyn, New York...

We have a small teacup Yorkie named Poppy Love. She's completely housebroken, sweet, friendly and lovable. She's also hypoallergenic, and does not shed, so NO dog hair, very clean and no need to interact. Must be respectful of living quarters. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE! NOTE: Due to the fact that Sarah and I are extremely busy, and to respect the privacy of our current guests, all booking must be done online via AirBnB. Our apartment is beautiful and accurately described/portrayed in the certified photos and description. We are unable to "show" the apartment to prospective tenants prior to booking. What you see, is what you get, and we are confidant you won't be disappointed...;-) Thanks!!!

Please note that there is a cleaning fee of $25 for weekly stays and $75 for monthly stays payable in cash upon arrival.

House Rules:

Must be mature, respectful, considerate and polite. We enjoy life and maintain an air of tranquility, harmony and warmth in our home, with our guests, and...we expect the same in return.

Socializing not required, but we do enjoy becoming better acquainted with our guests given the opportunity, and enjoying the mutual experience of becoming friends!

Our home is not a hotel, but rather, a comfortable and lovely temporary home. In essence, our home is your home, but guests are responsible for washing their own dishes, keeping the shared spaces clean/comfortable, and maintaining their private quarters. Of course, WE will maintain the esoteric and do the heady housework in the apartment, but ask that our guests be considerate of the same.

Enjoy, relax and make yourself comfortable. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our home, the neighborhood, Manhattan, restaurants, bars, etc. Do not hesitate to ask, and...make yourself at home!

Aaron and Sarah were awesome hosts who were very understanding and considerate. They generously shared the space in their beautifully furnished apartment with us for a two-month stay. The location of the apartment is great - there are three subway lines close-by and lots of cafes, restaurants and bars to explore within walking distance. The room has a great working space with lots of sunlight and the kitchen has any utensil you would need if you find time to cook while you're there. Poppy, who also lives in the apartment, is the sweetest little dog. She is guaranteed to make you happy with her gorgeous little smiles and hilarious antics.

I spent a month at Sara and Aaron's place and had a wonderful stay. Their apartment was my home at the beginning of my moving to New York.

Aaron & Sarah are truly one of the nicest, most welcoming and genuinely caring couple I have ever met. They made me feel very comfortable during my stay. Even when I got sick which was quite embarrassing they made sure I was okay, yet my private space was respected. Communication with both was great right from the start. The apartment/room is exactly as in the pictures if not more beautiful in person. It's very clean, very very cozy (I mean super cozy to the point where you don't want to leave), and located perfectly. I felt as if I was staying at my home away from home. I really recommend staying here. Thank you both so much again! See you soon :)

We stayed at Aaron and Sarah's during our 4 night stay in Brooklyn. They were very quick in conversing before and during our stay. The place was exactly as described. Thought the apartment is small it is very artistic and comfortable. The M line is a 2 min walk which takes you to Manhattan in about 20 mins. Initially we were not sure about how safe the neighborhood was but we happened to come back late at night sometimes and it was still very lively. There's street parking in the area where the car needs to be moved depending on which side is the street cleaning. Aaron and Sarah were really great hosts. They immediately got a heater when we told them that we were cold in the night. Overall the experience was very good.

Response from Aaron & Sarah:
Thanks for your review Pooja! We are happy that you enjoyed your stay and you are always welcome back as guests! I just wanted to address your concern: According to the NYPD, statistically, we live on one of the safest blocks in Bushwick! In the seven years we have lived here, we have never had an issue with safety or security, nor have any of our guests! There are two police precincts/stations within 2 blocks of our apartment, as well as, a fire station and three hospitals. Bushwick's "Urban and Industrial" vibe can sometimes be misleading. We assure you that our neighborhood is as safe, as the safest neighborhoods in Manhattan! Hope that helps...;-)

Sarah and Aaron are friendly people, always here to answer your questions or give you a tip. Feel sad that, due to our mutual circumstances, we couldn't hang out more. The place is well decorated and feels warm. The room is spacious and confortable. The place is always clean. Really easy to get a train to the city in the morning, it's a 20 minutes ride to Manhattan. A bit harder to have a train home in the evening. Nice experience overall!

Yes Arnaud. We too wish we could have hung out more! Thanks for being a great guest! Happy you enjoyed your stay. You are always welcome back! Best...

I lived with Aaron and Sarah for just under 3 months. They are a wonderful couple that really made me feel at home as soon as I arrived. The apartment is beautiful and has all the amenities one might need. Location wise; Bushwick is perfect - it is close enough to Manhattan but also far enough away to escape its constant craziness. Transport is handy as the M train is literally around the corner and the L train is about a 7 minute walk away. Grocery Store, Bodega, Laundromat are all very close. I also suggest checking out the local pizza joint which is amazing and also open 24/7. Over all, I had a wonderful stay. Not only are Aaron and Sarah awesome hosts, but they have become dear friends. I'll definitely be staying in touch, and no doubt I'll will stay with them again once I relocate permanently.

We are both successful creative professionals (I'm a musician/composer/ producer and member of Leisure Cruise, The Little Death & Moby's band. Sarah is an interior/floral designer and event planner). I'm from San Francisco and Sarah is from Toronto. We are outgoing, sociable, well respected, relaxed, fun loving, busy and socially active, but also very respectful of our privacy and appreciate our downtime at home. We enjoy our dog "Poppy", fine cuisine, travel (especially tropical beaches and anywhere you can scuba dive), socializing, music, film, art and spending time with our lovely friends and family. We are very easy to get along with and well traveled, so we enjoy our friends from all around the world...
