Welcome to Helved Forest Mill B&B. Our home was originally a water mill used for grinding grain but is now a quaint and rustic B&B. If you don’t feel like sitting in your room, feel free to use the living room or the enjoy the garden. The neighboring forest is full of walking trails while the beach and a lighthouse are only a short walk away. Breakfast is available for an additional price.

The space
The East Room (called Østværelset in Danish) is fairly small but cozy. The original mill floor was thoroughly cleaned but left looking very rustic. The walls are painted with environmentally friendly, clay based paint. There are two single beds that can be arranged as shown in the photo or they can be moved together for couples. This room is upstairs near the bathroom.

Where you’ll be

Augustenborg, Denmark

We are lucky to live on the edge of a small village with friendly neighbors, surrounded by forest and grass fields. Our garden is planted with many types of edible plants and fruit trees. There are a variety of interesting raised planting beds such as keyhole, spiral, and hugel. There is also a shelter and place to build a campfire that our guests can use.
We are located in the countryside between a small village and a forest, and if you walk (or drive) few hundred meters through the forest, will find the ocean, a lighthouse, and a view of the islands Fyn and Ærø

I am originally from the USA, moved to Denmark in 2013, and am married to a Dane. We had an airbnb when we lived in Copenhagen and loved it. Now that we have moved to Southern Denmark, we are happy to open a new B&B.
We enjoy traveling, bicycling, reading, and gardening. I am best with English but can also speak Danish. My wife can speak Danish, English, and German.
