About This Listing
Your own suite in our beautiful home within walking distance of all the amenities that downtown St. Pete has to offer: gorgeous waterfront parks that run for miles, great restaurants, museums, entertainment and shopping. Great breakfast provided!
Nestled in the beautiful Old Northeast neighborhood of St. Petersburg, this large guest room, in a private home with its own bath and seating area, is one block from the third largest waterfront park system in North America where bike and walking trails surround the Bay.
There is no other neighborhood like this one, featured in "This Old House" as one of the top ten historic bungalow neighborhoods in the USA.
We are a short walk to restaurants, museums, galleries, clubs and more. Saint Petersburg has been voted the #1 medium sized art town in the US three years in a row. It is home to the Dali Museum, the Chihuly Art Glass Museum, the Holocaust Museum and a Museum of Fine Arts.
Don't miss the wonderful Saturday Morning Market in St. Pete with great food, local organic produce, art and craft vendors and live music. (Labor Day thru Memorial Day, 9:00-2:00) You can walk there right along the bay! Summer too...in a shady park a few blocks away.
Suitable for one person or a couple. Guests are welcome to share the whole house. This sweet bungalow has front and back porches for outdoor living and easy free parking. We have two kayaks and two bicycles available for your use.
Traveling with a little one? We have a pack & play for your use and thick comfy sleeping bags if you need them. Juice boxes are in the fridge!
A gourmet, full breakfast is available on Sunday, continental on Saturday and weekdays. There is a small fridge in your room stocked with drinks.
Special occasion? Talk to me about catering and having guests.
We are located 30 minutes from the Tampa Airport, and close to Busch Gardens, Ybor City and International Mall. Take a day trip to Disney World, Sea World or Universal Studios, just 90 minutes away.
There is a large public pool and and a public "Bay" beach just three blocks away. Gulf Beaches are a short 15 minute drive or dedicated trolley ride away. These are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
We have two, well behaved cocker spaniels that love company. We would consider a medium to small dog as a guest.
Note: The bed is a full size, not a queen. If you require one, we have a good quality queen air mattress but a queen is only 6 inches wider and 5 inches longer than a full size.
Note: When you inquire, could you please help me get to know you by describing yourself and your trip? Thank you.
Access to the whole home and grounds with the exclusion of the second floor master suite.
Interaction with Guests
We are at home when you visit and welcome conversation and pleasant exchanges. Your privacy is important to us and your room is secluded enough to offer you as much privacy as you need.
The New York Times says, "This quiet residential neighborhood stuffed with old houses is the opposite of the happening downtown scene, which might just be its appeal. Those discovering this area, largely through word of mouth, say they love its sense of community while relishing the easy access to downtown. With its eclectic architecture, brick streets, picket fences and lush foliage, the neighborhood offers an odd blend of New England style and tropical sensibility. Despite its residential nature, it is just north of St. Petersburg’s downtown, making it convenient to the city’s booming cultural and entertainment scene. It also offers easy access for out-of-towners, since it is just 20 minutes from Tampa International Airport."
There is a local bus system as well as a downtown trolley that goes to the large Gulf beaches and the major shopping areas downtown and along Central Avenue.
Check in and check out: We do not have any set times and can decide on an individual basis but we would like a ballpark time and clear communication. We would appreciate a call if anything changes such as a delay.
Feel free to share the whole house: all we ask is that you treat this home as you would your own, with respect and courtesy.
The EXTRA person fee is for a whole separate room and is the same fee as the nightly room rate. We can accommodate a larger group or family occasionally with another room on the same floor. The bathroom would be shared. This room has a queen size sleeper sofa that is actually comfortable. If you are interested please send a message with your reservation request.
Living room, dining room, porches, kitchens, den with TV are all fine.
Upstairs is private.
Complimentary, continental breakfast is available on weekdays and Saturday from 7:30-10:00.
Full breakfast is available Sunday morning. Ask me what’s available and please let me know if you are a vegetarian or have any dietary issues.
Bring a laptop, tablet, IPAD? Wireless internet is available throughout the house.
I can print boarding passes, directions and site information for you.
Sand and Shoes and Wet Stuff
Sand is really hard on the floors. If you are just back from the beach please try to brush it off outside. We have an outdoor shower.
Please try to check your shoes for sand before coming in.
Please put wet stuff on the tiled bathroom floor, not the wood floor or bed.
Sorry for the little delay, but as written in the guest book at your house, we enjoyed it very much to stay with you and at your place. We can definitely recommend everybody do so too. Best regards to Warren and "The Boys" :)
We had a lovely 2 night stay at Linda and Warren's beautiful home. The house is a feast for the eyes being filled with original art and craft, the photos cannot do it justice. The location is perfect, the house is on a quiet, leafy street but just a few minutes from restaurants, galleries etc.
Linda's gourmet Sunday breakfast was unbelievable.
Both Linda and Warren were welcoming and helpful..... a really interesting couple. We would absolutely return.
Staying at Linda and Warren’s Artistic Bungalow is a wonderful adventure. Not only is the location close to a waterfront park and miles of bike and walking trails, you are walking distance to museums and great dining. It’s a charming neighborhood; natural beauty in a beautiful setting and close the heart of downtown St. Pete’s.
Linda and Warren’s place is comfortable and lovely – artwork fills the spaces – a visual treat. Your room in this bungalow is spacious and inviting. A comfy reading/relaxing chair invites you and the bed is just right, not too soft, nor too hard. Don’t miss the outdoor shower, it’s the perfect Florida experience (yes, there is one inside, too).
But the advantage of this amazing place is your hosts, Linda and Warren. They are warm, caring and utterly devoted to making sure your stay is top notch, from the delicious breakfasts that Linda creates to the great conversations you will no doubt have with these two delightful hosts. I felt like I had known them my whole life (and wish I had).
If you can, try and stay for the Sunday breakfast. It is so superb you’ll hear your heart breaking that you can’t be there every Sunday.
Linda and Warren’s advice on local happenings, dinner suggestions and cool stuff to do is spot-on. I felt like a local and traveled the city like one. I really loved staying with Linda and Warren in their Artistic Bungalow.
What a great stay we had with Linda & Warren in their lovely home. Located in a beautiful tree lined neighborhood a few blocks from the beach, their tasteful and very clean home was convenient to everything. Our hosts made us feel welcome and comfortable and took good care of us with delicious fruit & freshly baked bread each morning. They let us borrow their bicycles, chairs and were a pleasure to spend time with. We definitely recommend this BNB!
Great location; great hosts and a beautiful and very comfortable room and bathroom. I enjoyed my stay and would strongly recommend!
Linda and Warren were fantastic hosts that made us feel so at home. We enjoyed the time we spent chatting with them, and they went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our time (even giving our toddler some of his breakfast favourites just for him). Their home is beautiful, comfortable, and very well-located near downtown, transit, and bay parks and beaches (and the gulf beaches are a short drive or a trolley ride away). Very nice breakfasts (home-made bread, spreads, and lots of fruit) and great coffee were served every morning. Our toddler loved playing with their two dogs, and the back porch was especially nice for relaxing. Would hiiiighly recommend this place. We had a great time, thanks Linda and Warren!
About the Host, Linda
Warren and I are both artists and our home reflects both our love of art and our love of older homes.
We moved to St. Petersburg in 2010 so that I could teach at St. Petersburg College. The bonus is that St. Pete and particularly where we live, in the Old NE neighborhood, is paradise. There is always, and I mean always, something going on and everything is accessible and affordable.
My biggest pleasure is to cook healthy, gourmet meals for friends and family and now, I hope, guests. Warren's biggest pleasure is to have company and make sure they have a great time.
