The Space

Nestled in the beautiful Old Northeast neighborhood of St. Petersburg, this large guest room, in a private home with its own bath and seating area, is one block from the third largest waterfront park system in North America where bike and walking trails surround the Bay.

There is no other neighborhood like this one, featured in "This Old House" as one of the top ten historic bungalow neighborhoods in the USA.

We are a short walk to restaurants, museums, galleries, clubs and (website hidden). Petersburg has been voted the #1 medium sized art town in the US three years in a row. It is home to the Dali Museum, the Chihuly Art Glass Museum, the Holocaust Museum and a Museum of Fine Arts.

Don't miss the wonderful Saturday Market in St. Pete with great food, local organic produce, art and craft vendors and live music. (Labor Day thru Memorial Day, 9:00-2:00) You can walk there right along the bay! Summer a shady park a few blocks away.

Suitable for one person or a couple. Guests are welcome to share the whole house. This sweet bungalow has front and back porches for outdoor living and easy free parking. We have two kayaks and two bicycles available for your use.

Traveling with a little one? We have a pack & play for your use and thick comfy sleeping bags if you need them. Juice boxes are in the fridge!

A gourmet, full breakfast is available on Sunday, continental on Saturday and weekdays. There is a small fridge in your room stocked with drinks and snacks.
Special occasion? Talk to me about catering and having guests.

We are located 30 minutes from the Tampa Airport, and close to Busch Gardens, Ybor City and International Mall. Take a day trip to Disney World, Sea World or Universal Studios, just 90 minutes away.

There is a large public pool and and a public "Bay" beach just three blocks away. Gulf Beaches are a short 15 minute drive or dedicated trolley ride away. These are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

We have two, well behaved cocker spaniels that love company. We would consider a medium to small dog as a guest.

Note: The bed is a full size, not a queen. If you require one, we have a good quality queen air mattress.

Note: When you inquire, could you please help me get to know you by describing yourself and your trip? Thank you.

Guest Access

Access to the whole home and grounds with the exclusion of the second floor master suite.

Interaction with Guests

We are at home when you visit and welcome conversation and pleasant exchanges. Your privacy is important to us and your room is secluded enough to offer you as much privacy as you need.

The Neighborhood

The New York Times says, "This quiet residential neighborhood stuffed with old houses is the opposite of the happening downtown scene, which might just be its appeal. Those discovering this area, largely through word of mouth, say they love its sense of community while relishing the easy access to downtown. With its eclectic architecture, brick streets, picket fences and lush foliage, the neighborhood offers an odd blend of New England style and tropical sensibility. Despite its residential nature, it is just north of St. Petersburg’s downtown, making it convenient to the city’s booming cultural and entertainment scene. It also offers easy access for out-of-towners, since it is just 20 minutes from Tampa International Airport."

Getting around

There is a local bus system as well as a downtown trolley that goes to the large Gulf beaches and the major shopping areas downtown and along Central Avenue.

  • Staying with Linda and Warren was a fantastic experience. The room is beautiful and roomy and I thoroughly enjoyed all my interactions and conversation with my host. Old NE St Pete is beautiful place to visit and I walked to the bay and through the neighborhood and was in was fantastic, including the use of their bicycle. I would stay with Linda and Warren again and highly recommend you consider staying if you are interested in art and culture during your visit to St. Pete.

  • My husband and I had a wonderful time staying with Linda and Warren. Waking up to the smell of Linda's homemade bread every morning was only one of the perks. The smiles and stories they shared with us became a part of our experience. Their home is situated in a beautiful part of town and everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. The bikes that they shared with us gave us a unique look into nooks and crannies of St. Petersburg. The outdoor shower is amazing! There is nothing like feeling the warm Florida sun on your skin! We will highly recommend Linda and Warren's home to our friends and family.

  • Warren and Linda were perfect hosts with an exceptional home making us feel more like friends than guests. Our room was lovely, with a very comfortable bed. The neighborhood was sensational, close to both the water and to the downtown area. Breakfast every morning was great. We were especially lucky to be treated to Linda's Sunday gourmet breakfast. We would readily recommend staying with Linda and Warren and definitely stay with them again.

  • Linda and Warren provide a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful home. They happily lent a bicycle with a helmet and a bag…and the homemade bread is icing on the cake!

  • I enjoyed staying with Linda and Warren very much. I own a house, but they have a HOME. It was warm and inviting. We had lively conversations and Sunday breakfast was Executive Chef quality. They provided recommendations for the immediate area and beyond. I HIGHLY recommend staying with Linda and Warren.

We can't imagine staying in St Pete without them.

  • We loved our time with Linda and Warren. The guest quarters are spacious, comfortable, and private; the shared quarters are great for lounging and relaxing. Just right breakfasts with an amazing array of fresh fruits. Being a block and a half from the waterfront was a treat -- easy to enjoy the activity of the water and the park. It was also nice to be able to walk to the town center. Everything was lovely! We were just sorry that we didn't get a chance to try the outdoor shower -- we were rained out!

Warren and I are both artists and our home reflects both our love of art and our love of older homes. We moved to St. Petersburg in 2010 so that I could teach at St. Petersburg College. The bonus is that St. Pete and particularly where we live, in the Old NE neighborhood, is paradise. There is always, and I mean always, something going on and everything is accessible and affordable. My biggest pleasure is to cook healthy, gourmet meals for friends and family and now, I hope, guests. Warren's biggest pleasure is to have company and make sure they have a great time.
